What I do here

  • Since xxxx: Trainer for climate zone training of operational forces

  • Since 2005: IHK Certified Trainer

  • Since 2008: Organization of TV & film productions, B2B

  • Since 2016: Software development for CRM, tourism & logistics

Previous life

At 30, my career as a “double zero pencil sharpener” was over, followed by 22 years of adrenaline addiction.
The drug OVERCROSS promised me daily dopamine in the present and seduced me to the adventure of tomorrow.

Quickly I became the number 1 dopamine and adrenaline dealer from being addicted!
Looking back, after over half a million kilometers through bush, jungle, and deserts of this world, always on the trail of adventure, I can count myself lucky:
I was able to experience a uniquely insane professional life with participants and comrades that shapes me to this day.

What I wish from the good fairy

That after this intense, eventful professional life, I find the time and serenity to enjoy the quiet moments in the warmth with my wife.

Momentous experiences in my life

  • Crossing the Sahara solo, with a BMW 1100 GS & 450 kilos total weight
  • "Acquaintance" with Hezbollah, Israeli air strike and tea with the FIS
  • Under arrest in Egypt, Lebanon, and Algeria
  • Hell ride over 300 KMH, on the bike through the Sahara and Lebanon
  • NYC Marathon, living in Harlem
  • Experience in the bush, climate zone training, once full throttle across Africa.
  • The birth of Luke "Skywalker", "Knight" Rian and "Princess" Rani.
  • The encounter with Kurt Rebmann, Officer Hellmut von Leipzig, and his wife
  • With the "Double Zero" in driver training
  • The conversation with a nomad in the Sahara, who asked about the gained time
  • The handling and loss of a narcissist
  • Illness, accident, time to say goodbye

This adventure I would like to experience in the next five years

OVERCROSS:
The last expeditions into the world

Private:
The happiness, to experience love by my side

When I'm not allowed to travel anymore

...I will enjoy life in Pliezhausen, Cape Town, Guatiza with my great love by my side and cheer on the OVERCROSSis from the back office ;-)

My tours

Christian-Gunkel-in-front-of-his-Defender

As a passionate and long-suffering Defender driver, it was eventually time for me to find a job that matched my car. My enthusiasm for travel ultimately led me to OVERCROSS. Here, I am responsible for the 4x4 Offroad Travel department and regularly exchange the desk for the steering wheel. My favorite destinations for off-road trips include North Africa and the Balkans.

Eduardo-Nogueira-a-product-manager-for-Overcross-Reiseveranstalter-tübingen

Brazilian by birth and German when it comes to drinking beer...

What am I doing here?

At OVERCROSS, I am responsible for managing our products in Latin America. My task is to find products that appeal to our customers, are interesting, and can offer unforgettable experiences. Personally, I place great value on products oriented towards "adventure." I firmly believe that at OVERCROSS, we can make every adventure possible!

Qualification

In Brazil, I studied Music Education as my first course of study and worked for years for a leading company in the eco-tourism sector. In Germany, I studied Interdisciplinary American Studies, focusing on relations between the USA and China, diplomacy, and politics. This knowledge helps me greatly at OVERCROSS, as many of my tasks involve B2B, AI, negotiations, and similar areas.

Past life

I was born in the middle of the Amazon and have always worked professionally in tourism. I never felt like I belonged to a specific place—the longing to discover other cultures was always present. Now I am a father and can no longer simply backpack around the world, but perhaps I can soon take my son on an adventure. Maybe even aboard a mighty IVECO truck.

My three favorite countries

Australia, Brazil, Spain

From the good fairy, I wish for...

I think I've already led a pretty eventful life. I am so grateful that I just want to let fate take its course at the moment!

Milestone experiences in my life

The birth of my son Luisinho was by far the most defining moment of my life. I was just representing France at the Tübingen UN Conference (TMUN) in the final negotiation round when his mother said: "I'm going to the hospital!" What followed was a complete turnaround. Oh yes, there's something else... I lost my breath climbing the imposing Huayna Potosí at 6,088m height at -25 °C in Bolivia (the true story is much more dramatic :)

This adventure I want to experience in the next five years

Uff, I have so many...
I want to go back to the Andes to climb the Nevado Alpamayo, 5,957m (the most beautiful mountain in the world) in Peru.
Trekking to the Monte Roraima plateau in Brazil.
The Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu in Peru.
Ice climbing on the Parinacota, 6,348m, in Bolivia.
A trekking tour near the Nanga Parbat in Nepal.

If I'm no longer allowed to travel

I would simply buy a small boat and travel the Amazon rivers with my son.

Pravin Rohra

The creative mind from India who knows remote paths as well as product management.

What am I doing here?

At OVERCROSS, I am the product manager for the Asian market. My task is to develop exciting new offers that delight our customers and connect them with authentic experiences. Products that combine adventure, culture, and innovation are particularly important to me. I believe that with OVERCROSS we can make every dream of a discovery journey possible.

Qualification

I have a master's in economics and management and bring an unusual mix of experience: Three years as a travel agent in India taught me to understand the hidden treasures and specialties of the market—far beyond the obvious. This combination helps me create creative and successful products for our Asian customers.

Previous life

I originally come from India, a country full of contrasts and adventures. Travel has fascinated me from an early age—whether on the roads of my homeland or on new paths in the world. When I'm not working on new product ideas, I dream of being back on the road soon and discovering new cultures.

My three favorite countries

India, Japan, Thailand

What I wish for from the good fairy...

That I never lose my spirit of discovery and always find new inspirations for exciting projects.

Significant experiences in my life

My time as a travel agent showed me how important it is to engage with people and details—this has shaped not just my work but also my view of the world. A very special moment was my first big trip through the Himalayan region, which sparked my love for remote places and true adventures.

This adventure I want to experience in the next five years

A trekking tour through Ladakh to experience the impressive mountain world of India, and maybe a long motorcycle tour through Southeast Asia.

If I'm no longer allowed to travel

Then I will spend my time developing new products that awaken the longing for distant countries and exciting stories in our customers.

What am I doing here?
I work here as a product manager for everything related to Africa. Additionally, I am responsible for everything related to accounting and controlling, which means the rescue of the company.

Qualification
From small to large. My career began with training as a tourism clerk. I then completed a bachelor's degree in tourism management and directly followed it with a master's in sustainable tourism management.

Previous Experience
Grown up in the tourism branch - a career in tourism. From training as a tourism clerk, through a bachelor's degree in economic science specializing in tourism management, to a master's degree specializing in sustainable tourism management.

My three favorite countries
South Africa, Ghana, and the Canary Islands.

What I wish for from the good fairy
A satisfied and confident society that wants to travel, which would cause the tourism industry to boom.

Key experiences in my life
When you fall down, you get back up. I have fallen many times but always got back up. The tourism industry also fell due to Covid, but it got back up too. Staying down is not an option.

This adventure I want to experience in the next five years
 4x4 through Kenya and Tanzania.

If I'm ever unable to travel
Enjoy life at home with a cool beer.

Nikita Dashchenko

"Chick of Overcross"

What do I do here?

I am the all-rounder for everything related to social media, graphics, video, SEO, and our website – and of course, for the boss's coffee. ;)

Qualification

I am currently doing my training at OVERCROSS. Thanks to my hobbies, I have already gained a lot of experience with graphics and video – which is really beneficial for my work here.

Previous Experience

I was born in Ukraine and completed music and regular school there. Directly after graduating, in the midst of the global lockdown, the war began. After a month of traveling through various European countries, I finally landed in Germany. I have been living and learning here for over three years now. My German is quite good by now – although I still can't drink as much beer in one evening as an average German. :)

My three favorite countries

I have not yet traveled to many countries to name clear favorites. But home will always be the country of my heart, no matter how many places I discover.

What I wish for from the good fairy…

I wish that no one else has to experience what war means.

Key experiences in my life

When you travel for a month from country to country with two suitcases, your mother, and your dog – without knowing if a home or safety awaits you somewhere – your perspective on the world changes. Maybe we should offer such a tour as an adventure trip for the brave? What do you think?)

This adventure I want to experience in the next five years

I dream of traveling Asia, especially Japan. But my greatest adventure would be a tour through my homeland once it is safe again. I want to visit the ghost town of Prypjat and explore the Carpathians.

If I'm ever unable to travel…

Then I would simply stroll with my friends over Google Maps – which we already do regularly. So I'm practically an experienced E-tourist. ;)

My three favorite countries

Ukraine, Japan, Czech Republic

My wish to the good fairy...

Never to lose my drive and myself.

Significant events in my life

It's hard to say what was truly significant. I would say that in the last three years something extraordinary and cool has happened.

An adventure I want to experience in the next five years

In the next five years, I definitely want to visit Everest or at least its base camp. I don't want to be just another Everest tourist, but to experience and feel the life of the “mountain dwellers”.

If I couldn't travel anymore

Then I would buy armor and a huge sword and participate in Buhurt fights. Would I do that even if I could travel? Definitely!

Maya Schiessler

What am I doing here?

Currently, I am still in the training program to become an EU tour manager at Overcross.

Qualification:

I grew up on the Canary Islands and recognized early on how important it is for people to be well cared for during their vacation. As a young woman, I started a small village organic store with a friend and a few years later launched a bakery. My strength is my excellent customer service, which qualifies me as a career changer at Overcross.

Past Life:

Growing up on the Canary Island of Lanzarote, I love the quiet life here. Having run the organic store and my little bakery, with all the dear customers, was a wonderful experience.

Now that I have become a mom, I naturally spend a lot of time with my son.

My 3 favorite countries:

Besides my island, Switzerland, France, and Holland fascinate me the most. The nature in Northern Europe has a fascinating aspect that is different from here in the South.

From the good fairy, I wish for...

Peace, health, and lots of love for all of us.

Key experiences in my life:

The birth of my child was the most important moment of my life so far. Such a little being, just in my belly and now already out in the world, is a wonder of nature.

This adventure I want to experience in the next five years:

Every day is an adventure, and it is often the little things that bring the greatest joy.

What would you do if traveling was no longer an option?

I would continue to travel in my imagination and accompany people on their journeys virtually.

Russia - So close and yet so far. Europe but completely incomprehensible. And much more than just Red Square and Kremlin. These are the impressions that remain when you stay in the country for a long time.

After 7 years I have seen a lot, but the desire to continue discovering and exploring grows steadily. And always the realization: "Well, I haven't experienced that yet"

The first tours with Joe were (2011) in Switzerland and Germany, from curve to curve, until the profile was lost ;-)
Over the years I have repeatedly tried to persuade Joe and a few other motorcyclists to go on a Western Alps tour. After many years of friendship and 10,000 Western Alps kilometers later, we had one or the other legendary Western Alps tour! Today I have ridden beyond the Western Alps and am now on tour from highlight to highlight in India with Royal Enfield.

Here is the adventure, and I look forward to you joining in, see you in India.
