<p>Africa is not one country to ride, it is many countries stitched into a single continent: Atlas switchbacks in Morocco, gravel plains in Namibia, red dust tracks through Kenya and Tanzania, salt pans in Botswana and Zimbabwe. Weather, altitude and surface change from one border to the next, and a route planned for one rarely suits another.</p><p>When OVERCROSS runs a round trip on this continent, it is guided from the front by someone who has ridden the route before selling it, kept to a small group, and built around real distances rather than padded sightseeing days. We would rather publish a route once it is right than fill the calendar with placeholders.</p><p>A typical day starts early, before the heat, with a route briefed the night before: fuel stops, water, the state of the road ahead. You ride behind a guide who knows the terrain, and most days end somewhere with a hot shower, a cold drink and a story from whoever went off-route first.</p>
