<p>Central America has two very different tours to match your riding experience. The Costa Rica coast to coast route is rated skill level 1 and works well if you are relatively new to longer motorcycle trips: the roads are mostly paved and only occasionally test you with a mountain pass near Cerro de la Muerte. The Cuba tour on a Harley-Davidson sits at skill level 2, since you will be riding a heavier bike through Havana's traffic and on to Cienfuegos and Varadero, so some confidence handling a bigger machine helps.</p><p>The motorcycle is part of the price on both tours, so you will not need to ship or bring your own. On Cuba you are given a Harley-Davidson from our fleet, serviced by our mechanics before departure, with a replacement bike on standby for the whole week. On the Costa Rica route you ride a Yamaha XT600E or XT660R, both prepared for the mix of highway and gravel between the Pacific and the Caribbean.</p><p>A typical day starts with a briefing on the stage ahead. On Cuba that means city touring in Havana, then transfers between colonial towns such as Trinidad and Santa Clara, with a support vehicle carrying your luggage. On Costa Rica, riding days alternate between coastal stretches and the climb to Cerro de la Muerte, with your multilingual guide leading throughout and stops built in for the Jaguar Rescue Center, coffee plantations and Arenal Volcano.</p>
The Costa Rica coast to coast tour is skill level 1 and friendly to less experienced riders on its mostly paved route. The Cuba Harley-Davidson tour is skill level 2, so some confidence with a heavier bike in city and mixed traffic helps.
