Chile Travel and Vacation – Good to know

Chilean visas are not required for many countries. Citizens of the EU, USA, Canada, and more can stay for up to 90 days without a visa. A visa on arrival is not necessary as you just need to show your passport at the entry border. Research the requirements for your country beforehand to avoid nasty surprises.
The Santiago de Chile Airport (SCL) is the largest and busiest airport in the country. It offers good connections to numerous destinations in Chile and abroad. From the airport, you can easily take a taxi or a shuttle to the city. Depending on your travel style, you can start your motorcycle tour from there!
The currency in Chile is the Chilean Peso (CLP). It is advisable to have some cash for small expenses, such as street vendors. Credit cards are accepted in many stores, but not everywhere. Since ATM fees can be high, it is advisable to withdraw larger amounts, but be cautious of transaction fees.
Although no specific vaccinations are required for Chile, general vaccinations such as Hepatitis A/B and Typhoid are recommended. A travel insurance is highly advisable as medical care can be expensive. Also, check if your insurance covers motorcycle riding to avoid unexpected costs.
To ride a motorcycle in Chile, you need a valid national driver's license and possibly an international driver's license, especially if you want to be on the safe side due to traffic laws. Make sure your driver's license covers the class for motorcycles you want to ride.
