Our four Vietnam motorcycle tours range from mostly paved mountain roads to real off-road riding. The 9-day North Vietnam trip and the 9-day Mekong Delta tour stay largely on tarmac and delta roads, so solid road experience is enough. The 12-day Hill Tribes tour and the 15-day Enduro Expedition from north to south add narrow, partly unpaved mountain tracks around Ha Giang and jungle trails through Ke Bang National Park, where you should ride confidently off pavement with some stamina for long days.
You ride our rental motorcycles on every tour, usually a Honda XR250 or CRF250cc, or a Kawasaki KLX150cc, all serviced locally before you set off; an upgrade to the CRF250cc is available on some tours for an extra charge. We do not offer transport for your own motorcycle to Vietnam, so plan on riding one of our prepared bikes for the whole trip.
Daily distances vary by tour: on the 12-day Hill Tribes route they run from about 85 to 200 km a day, totalling roughly 1,400 km, while the other tours mix shorter paved stretches, ferry crossings, or a night by boat. A typical day starts with a route and GPS briefing from your local guide, then several hours riding mountain passes, dirt tracks, or the flat roads of the Mekong Delta. Evenings bring a homestay with hill tribe families, an apartment, a night aboard a boat in Halong Bay, or a camp near Ke Bang National Park, with a support vehicle following for your luggage.
The 12-day Hill Tribes tour and the 15-day Enduro Expedition from north to south include marked off-road stretches, through the mountains around Ha Giang and the jungle trails of Ke Bang National Park, so you should already be comfortable off pavement. The 9-day North Vietnam tour and the Mekong Delta tour run mostly on paved roads and suit riders with solid road experience.
No, every Vietnam tour uses our prepared rental motorcycles, Honda XR250, CRF250cc or Kawasaki KLX150cc, maintained locally. We do not offer transport for your own motorcycle on this trip.
