<p>Both of our Montenegro tours are rated beginner level. You do not need racing or expedition experience, but you should feel at ease on loose surfaces. On the 4x4 trip, sections such as the Lisa Pass reward calm, concentrated driving on gravel and unpaved mountain roads. The snowmobile trip is guided closely, so a first-timer can keep up.</p><p>You do not bring your own vehicle on either tour. The snowmobile trip includes the machine and fuel, with a deposit of 300 euros per snowmobile. The 4x4 trip uses a Nissan Pathfinder that arrives equipped with a roof tent, a shower, a stove and chairs. We set no fixed daily distance: mountain tracks and plateaus are slow, and the route decides the pace, not a kilometre target.</p><p>A day starts with a briefing from your guide on the route, the surface and the weather. Then the group heads out, with stops at viewpoints and lakes. The snowmobile trip is for 4 to 8 riders over 5 days, with 3 guided days, breakfast and dinner, and nights in double rooms. The 4x4 trip takes 4 to 6 people over 6 days, with a local guide in his own support vehicle, and you sleep in the roof tent.</p>
Experience required
Beginner level on both tours. No racing or expedition background needed, but the 4x4 trip asks for calm, focused driving on loose gravel, for example on the Lisa Pass.
Own bike allowed
No. The snowmobile is rented as part of the trip, fuel included, and the 4x4 comes as a fully equipped Nissan Pathfinder with roof tent. You never bring your own vehicle.
Daily distance
We publish no fixed daily distance. Mountain tracks and plateaus are slow going, so the day is planned around the route and the light, not around a kilometre target.
Typical day
Your guide briefs the day over breakfast, then the group rides or drives together at an even pace with stops at viewpoints and lakes. Nights are in a roof tent on the 4x4 trip and in double rooms on the snowmobile trip.
Best time to ride
Our two Montenegro tours ride in two different seasons. Snowmobile trips run from late January to mid February 2027, on snow. 4x4 camping trips start in July and August 2027, when the high mountain tracks are open. The full season matrix lives on the travel information page.

What does the Montenegro tour cost?
The 4x4 camping trip with rental car costs 1399 euros for 6 days. The snowmobile experience trip costs 1750 euros for 5 days. Both prices are per person and the dates are listed on each tour page.
What is included in the 4x4 camping trip?
Planning and logistics, a fully equipped Nissan Pathfinder with roof tent and camping gear, a local guide with his own support vehicle, and help with grocery shopping. Meals, fuel and national park entrance fees are paid on site.
What is included in the snowmobile trip?
A guide, 3 days of guided snowmobile riding, 4 nights in double rooms, breakfast and dinner, snowmobile rental and fuel, and the airport transfer. Flights, drinks and lunch are not included, and a deposit of 300 euros per snowmobile applies.
How large are the groups?
The snowmobile trip runs with 4 to 8 people, the 4x4 camping trip with 4 to 6 people. A small group means an even pace and a guide who knows everyone by name.
Do I need to bring my own vehicle or gear?
No. The snowmobile and the 4x4 with roof tent are provided. You bring clothing for the season and your personal items. Travel insurance is mandatory on both trips, and it is not part of the price.
Is there a single room supplement?
On the snowmobile trip, a solo traveller pays a single room supplement of 25 euros per night. On the 4x4 camping trip you sleep in the roof tent, so the question does not come up there.
When can I book?
The snowmobile trip has departures in late January and February 2027. The 4x4 camping trip departs in July and August 2027. Send us an enquiry with your preferred date and we will confirm availability.
