The guided motorcycle tour with rental bike runs mostly on tarmac along coastal roads and through mountain villages such as Orgosolo, while the off-road motorcycle tour tackles gravel tracks in the Supramonte and mountain passes in the Gennargentu. If you can stand on the pegs, brake on loose ground and shift your weight confidently on gravel, the off-road tour is for you; the guided tour only asks for solid experience on winding country roads, even though a few stretches in the Supramonte hills get more demanding.
On the guided motorcycle tour with rental bike, a prepared motorcycle is waiting for you on arrival, so you do not need to bring your own machine. For the off-road tour you ride your own bike, provided it is fit for the terrain.
Both tours run 9 days and alternate short, twisting mountain stages in the Gennargentu with calmer sections along the Costa Verde and in the Gallura; on a compact island like Sardinia, the daily distances stay manageable. A typical day opens with a briefing on the stage ahead, GPS track included, before you ride through mountain villages like Orgosolo or along the coastal roads of the Costa Smeralda. Groups stay small, up to 14 riders on the off-road tour and up to 8 on the guided tour, with a guide accompanying you throughout the day before you reach your accommodation in the evening.

What else should I plan for besides the tour price?
Your flight or ferry to Sardinia, travel health insurance that covers motorcycling and, depending on the tour, fuel or optional extras such as a single room are not part of the base price. On the guided tour with rental bike you can also book discounted motorcycle transport from Tübingen to Sardinia and back for around 200 euros if you would rather bring your own machine.
