Our three Indonesia motorcycle tours range from the 22-day island route through Bali, Lombok and Sumbawa to the 12-day enduro trip through Bali and Java, our most demanding route with the sand sea of Mount Bromo and technical trails around Kawah Ijen. The Bali-Komodo Challenge runs the same 12 days mostly on paved roads, with one long stage, a 325 km run to Bima, as its toughest day.
You don't bring your own motorcycle on any of these trips: the rental bike, a Kawasaki KLX150 or Honda CRF150, is included in the price with full insurance. Riding the enduro route well means being comfortable standing on the pegs and braking on loose volcanic sand and wet trails. The island tour asks for solid off-road basics for stretches like the climb up Mount Batur, while the Bali-Komodo Challenge stays mostly on asphalt and suits confident riders on mixed surfaces.
A typical day starts with a route briefing, then several hours in the saddle with stops at rice terraces, waterfalls or temples, plus the inter-island ferry crossings on the longer tours. On the Bali-Komodo Challenge, stages run from a short 20 km hop to the 325 km king stage, for 1219 km across the 12-day trip. From 6 riders a support vehicle with a mechanic joins the group, and a multilingual guide rides with you throughout.

The 12-day enduro trip through Bali and Java is our toughest route, crossing the sand sea of Mount Bromo and technical trails around Kawah Ijen, so come with real off-road experience. The 22-day island tour needs solid off-road basics for sections like the Batur volcano climb, while the Bali-Komodo Challenge runs mostly on paved roads and suits confident riders on mixed surfaces.
Own bike allowed
No: every Indonesia tour includes a rental motorcycle in the price, a Kawasaki KLX150 or Honda CRF150 on the standard routes, with full insurance included.

Exact daily distances are only tracked for the Bali-Komodo Challenge: stages from a short 20 km hop up to the 325 km king stage, covering 1219 km over its 12 days. The enduro trip and the island tour run further days in the saddle without a fixed daily figure on file.
Typical day
Each riding day starts with a route and conditions briefing before you head out, with stops built in at temples, waterfalls or rice terraces along the way. From 6 riders a support vehicle with a mechanic follows the group; smaller groups get the same backup directly from the guide.
Best time to ride
The dry season from May to September gives the most reliable riding conditions across Indonesia. Roads and trails on Bali, Java, Lombok and Sumbawa grip best in these months, and inter-island ferries run more reliably. Outside this window the rainy season leaves off-road stretches around Bromo and Batur soft and slippery. Plan your trip inside the dry season if you can.

What is included in the price of an Indonesia motorcycle tour?
Every tour includes a multilingual guide, your rental motorcycle with insurance, hotel stays with breakfast and the inter-island ferries. From 6 riders a support vehicle with a mechanic joins the group. The Bali-Komodo Challenge goes further, adding all meals, a helicopter flight and massages. International flights, fuel for the rental bike and personal expenses are not included.
Do I need my own motorcycle or is one provided?
You don't need to bring your own bike. All three tours include a rental motorcycle, a Kawasaki KLX150 or Honda CRF150 on the standard routes, with full insurance built into the price. Fuel for the rental bike is the one running cost you cover yourself on top of the tour price.
How large are the riding groups?
Group sizes vary by tour. The enduro trip through Bali and Java runs from as few as 2 riders up to 10, the 22-day island tour through Bali, Lombok and Sumbawa takes 4 to 10 riders, and the Bali-Komodo Challenge runs as a larger group of 6 to 12 riders with a helicopter flight and 5-star hotels included.

How does booking and the deposit work?
Once you send an enquiry you receive a personal offer together with the legally required travel protection certificate. The booking becomes binding once you confirm it, after which you get your tour documents, packing list and all further travel details.
What isn't included and what should I budget for separately?
