German citizens do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days. For other nationalities, check the visa requirements online. A visa can be applied for online, but entry based on a visa is often not available upon arrival. Plan ahead to meet all documents and requirements.

The Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is the largest and best-connected airport for international arrivals. Alternatively, Malpensa Airport in Milan (MXP) also offers good options. For motorcycle travel, these airports are optimal as they provide many transport and rental options that make your trip easier.

In Italy, the Euro (€) is used. It is advisable to have some cash on hand for small purchases or in rural areas where cards may not be accepted. However, most large retailers and restaurants accept Visa and MasterCard, so you do not have to carry everything in cash.

No specific mandatory vaccinations are required for Italy. However, it is recommended to obtain comprehensive travel insurance that also covers breakdowns and accidents on the motorcycle. This provides security and protection against unforeseen expenses during your motorcycle trip.

To ride a motorcycle in Italy, you need a valid driver's license (at least category A1 for motorcycles up to 125cc or A for larger machines). If your driver's license is not in English, you should consider obtaining an international driver's license to avoid possible language barriers.
