The Journey
The motorcycle trip Brazil along the Rally dos Sertões 2026 takes you from August 22 to 30 on a large loop from Goiânia back to Goiânia. Since 1993, the Sertões has been the largest rally raid in Brazil, and today it is part of the FIA and FIM World Championship.
OVERCROSS powered by ADV-BR is the only organizer with official approval for the Sertões expedition. On this motorcycle expedition in Brazil, you visit the same stage locations as the racing teams, but without time pressure: 3,984 kilometers off-road through Goiás, Bahia, and Tocantins, accompanied by a vehicle for luggage, tools, and provisions.
Your motorcycle journey in Brazil begins in Goiânia, the capital of Goiás. You take over your Triumph Tiger 900 Rally, pick up your official Sertões accreditation, and get all the information about the upcoming days at the first briefing. In addition, you experience the festive kickoff of the Rally dos Sertões 2026 with access to Vila Sertões and the VIP area, before the first stage starts the following morning.
The first stage takes you over 650 km from Goiânia to Cavalcante, including 342 km of special stages for the racing teams. The route gradually rises towards Chapada dos Veadeiros, one of the oldest plateaus on Earth. Red gravel roads, vast Cerrado landscapes, and deep canyons shape the day. In Cavalcante, waterfalls and the first contact with the race activities in the bivouac await you.
Today you are switching from Goiás to Bahia. 635 km are on the agenda, for the racing teams with 435 km one of the longest special stages of the rally. The tracks are getting faster and dustier as the Cerrado transitions into the vast fields of Oeste Baiano. Luís Eduardo Magalhães is a young boomtown in the middle of the agricultural belt and the stage destination of this motorcycle expedition Brazil.
The hardest day of the Rally dos Sertões 2026: 544 km, of which 501 km are timed - almost the entire stage is a special test. For the racing teams, the marathon section begins here without outside assistance for the vehicles. You drive into the Jalapão, one of the most remote regions of Brazil, with sand dunes, crystal-clear springs, and endless tracks. Mateiros is the gateway to this region.
The second marathon day takes you over 572 km through the orange dunes of Jalapão to Porto Nacional, of which 304 km are a timed section. Fine sand, corrugated iron tracks, and river crossings require full concentration. In conclusion, you reach the Rio Tocantins, where the historic old town of Porto Nacional with colonial buildings and a relaxed riverside awaits you.

Minaçu is situated by the Serra da Mesa reservoir, one of Brazil's largest water storage areas - a spectacular stage destination on this rally expedition Brazil.
At 419 km, this stage is shorter, but with 324 km of special stages, it is one of the most intense of the rally. Niquelândia is one of the largest municipalities in Brazil by area and is your destination for this stage today.

Here, the decision for the racing teams regarding the overall standings is usually made, and the tension in the bivouac is correspondingly high.
