Motorcycle Tours North America: 2 Routes, 15 to 16 Days

Motorcycle tours North America stretch across a whole continent, from the Rocky Mountains to both the Pacific and the Atlantic coast. Riding the Route 66 corridor means long, straight highways, small diners and wide desert horizons, while the Wild West routes climb through canyon backroads and mountain passes with real temperature swings between morning and afternoon.

OVERCROSS runs 2 guided motorcycle tours across North America. The shortest, our Route 66 trip, takes 15 days from the Midwest to the West Coast on tarmac roads; the longest, our Wild West trip, takes 16 days and mixes tarmac with gravel sections. Both trips ride in a group of up to 12 riders, led by a tour guide, and neither is offered as a self-guided rental.

Each day starts with a route briefing from your guide before the group sets off together on well-prepared touring motorcycles. Riders cover long open-road stretches, stop for fuel, food and photos along the way, and spend every night in a hotel booked in advance, so you never have to organize accommodation yourself.

What You Need to Know

What Makes Riding North America Different

Three things set North America apart the moment you throw a leg over the bike.

Highway 66

One Road Across the Country

Route 66 is the backbone of an American motorcycle trip: a single historic road that once linked the Midwest to the Pacific. Riding it means long straight tarmac, small towns and a rhythm you will not find in Europe.

12 Riders Max

Small Guided Groups

Both North America trips cap the group at 12 riders with a guide leading from the front. You ride with the same group and the same guide for the whole trip, not in a rotating tour bus crowd.

15 to 16 Days

Long-Distance Trips

A North America motorcycle trip is not a weekend loop: our trips run 15 to 16 days, enough time to cover real distances between stops without rushing every stage.

Why Overcross

Why Ride North America on Motorcycle with Overcross.

Why Ride with OVERCROSS in North America

North America is a continent of long distances: wide highways, changing landscapes and daily stages that need to be planned differently than in Europe. OVERCROSS has ridden the roads between Route 66 and the Wild West ourselves, and we bring guides who know these highways from the saddle, not from a map.

You never ride alone out here. An experienced tour guide leads the group, the daily stages are planned in advance and the hotels are booked before you arrive, so you can focus on the road instead of the logistics. Whether you ride the Route 66 trip or the Wild West trip, OVERCROSS gets you from start to finish.

Ready to ride? We'll find the perfect Motorcycle trips trip for your vacation.
  • Which North America motorcycle tour suits a first-timer?
The Route 66 trip is the easier introduction: long straight highways, a clear route and steady daily stages in the saddle.
  • Do I need previous riding experience for a North America tour?
You should be comfortable riding long stages and handling a bigger touring motorcycle. Neither trip requires advanced off-road skills, though the Wild West route does include some gravel sections.
  • When is the best time to ride the Route 66 trip?
Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons, since the desert Southwest is milder than in peak summer heat.
  • Are the North America tours guided or do I ride on my own?
Both trips are guided: a tour guide rides with the group for the whole trip, and the daily stages and hotels are organized for you in advance.
  • What do I need to know about entry requirements for the USA?
Visa and entry rules for the USA are covered on our USA travel information page, not on this tour overview.
