The Bali Java Enduro Motorcycle Tour takes you across Indonesia in 12 days: from Bali’s rice terraces, by ferry to Java, past active volcanoes like Bromo and Kawah Ijen, and through colonial plantations, before the tour winds down in Lovina and Sanur.
Days 1-12
Canggu, arrival in Bali
After you arrive in Bali, our multilingual tour guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you by minibus to Canggu. To start your Enduro motorcycle tour through Bali and Java, you can relax, take a dip in the pool or the sea, and stroll on foot to Echo Beach. The hotel is set among rice fields, surrounded by cosy cafés, restaurants and small boutiques.
Canggu → Munduk, through rice fields
After breakfast, your motorcycles will be waiting at the hotel. You ride along small back roads and tracks through villages with rice terraces and little temples. On this motorcycle tour through Bali and Java, you’ll alternate between tarmac and unpaved trails. After a Balinese lunch (Babi Guling), you continue through the jungle to Munduk in the Buleleng mountains, where your hotel offers sweeping views over green valleys and rice terraces.
Munduk → Licin, ferry to Java
On winding mountain roads, you ride from Munduk towards the coast and take the ferry to Java. The crossing takes about an hour. On this stage of the Java volcano motorcycle tour, you approach the foot of Kawah Ijen. Small country tracks lead through villages, past rice terraces and a coffee plantation. You stay overnight in Licin in a comfortable resort with pool and mountain views.

Licin → Kalibaru, through plantations
Today, your Enduro motorcycle tour through Bali and Java takes you across colonial plantations of coffee, rubber and sugar cane, originally established by Dutch occupiers. You reach a factory where sugar is produced and visit a place of worship deep in the forest. You spend the night in Glenmore/Kalibaru in a modern riverside resort with a pool.
Kalibaru, rest day in the jungle
Today you take a rest day on your motorcycle tour through Bali and Java. The area around Kalibaru is perfect for a walk in the woods. If you wish, you can take a car to the nearby plantations and explore the surroundings. This is a great moment to catch your breath, recharge and enjoy the tropical calm on the edge of the jungle before the tour continues.
Kalibaru → Jember, through the mountains
You leave the main road and ride through the Gumitir mountain region onto the plantations. Depending on the weather, some off-road trails can be challenging. Your ride takes you through quiet forests with views into the valley, where rubber is still grown today. You cross a wooden bridge deeper into the jungle before reaching Jember, the capital of East Java. In the evening, the lively Pasar Malam market beckons. Overnight stay in a hotel with a rooftop pool.

Jember → Bromo volcano
From Jember, you ride west through wide rice fields and old colonial plantations, following at times a dilapidated railway line to Lumajang. After lunch, the highlight of the Java volcano motorcycle tour begins: the ascent to the active Bromo. Through Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park and across a vast sea of sand, you reach your hotel on the crater rim, where you can experience the Bromo volcano up close.
Cemara Lawang → Jember
Today you have the option to take a 4x4 at 4:00 am to watch the sunrise over Bromo and Semeru. After breakfast, you cross the sandy plain again by motorcycle and begin the descent towards Lumajang. This stage of the Enduro motorcycle tour through Bali and Java leads you along small roads and past colonial plantations through wooded areas back to Jember, where you stay again in the hotel with a rooftop pool.
Jember → Banyuwangi, at Kawah Ijen
Alternating between tarmac and unpaved tracks, you ride through villages to the northern entrance of Kawah Ijen National Park. On this Java volcano motorcycle tour, you pass through extensive coffee plantations where Arabica and the expensive Luwak coffee are grown. You spend the night in Banyuwangi in a luxury resort with a pool right on the coast.
Banyuwangi → Lovina, back on Bali
After breakfast, the ferry takes you back to Bali in just a few minutes. You quickly turn into the green north of the island and ride along Taman National Park and the coastal road with views of Lombok’s nearly 3,800-metre-high volcano. In the afternoon, you reach Lovina, where your hotel by the sea with an infinity pool invites you to relax, a peaceful moment on your motorcycle tour through Bali and Java.
Lovina → Sanur
The last riding day of your Enduro motorcycle tour through Bali and Java takes you through villages and wide rice fields to the volcanic Gunung Agung, Bali’s highest mountain. In Kintamani at 1,350 metres, the view opens up to Mount Batur and its lake. You reach the old crater via a steep route and ride through black volcanic sand before heading back to Sanur via Sideman.
Sanur, departure
At the end of your motorcycle tour through Bali and Java, it’s time to pack your bags. As most flights depart in the afternoon, there’s still time for a bit of shopping or a relaxing few hours on the beach and by the pool. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred to the airport. Tip: We recommend around 300 euros for spending money. Optional motorcycle upgrade: Honda CRF 250 Rally, Kawasaki Versys 250 X or Honda CB 500X.
