Travel Day 1: Welcome to Madagascar! Tonga Soa!

After your arrival in Antananarivo at Ivato International Airport (TNR), you will be greeted by our team and taken to your hotel.

Travel Day 2: Antananarivo - Antsirabe the Water City

Travel Day 2: Antananarivo - Antsirabe the Water City

After breakfast, you drive from Antananarivo towards Antsirabe. During a stop in Ambatolampy, we visit a foundry that produces various everyday items made of aluminum. We then continue our journey and arrive in the so-called Water City of Antsirabe after about two hours of driving, which is very famous for its many thermal baths.

Travel Day 3: Antsirabe - Ranomafana

Right in the morning, you will be picked up by a rickshaw and can convince yourself of the skill of the Madegassians in an artists' workshop, who transform Zebu horns into decorative objects. Afterwards, it continues to the Ranomafana National Park, which is one of the last montane rainforests in the world. Here, various species of lemurs live in a richly diverse endemic plant world.

In the early morning, you will drive from the hotel to the Ranomafana forest for a three-hour hike accompanied by a local and knowledgeable guide. In the afternoon, we will visit a typical 'Tanala' village, which translates to forest dweller, located about 12 km outside of Ranomafana.

Travel Day 5: Ranomafana - Ranohira | Meeting the Ring-tailed Lemurs

Travel Day 5: Ranomafana - Ranohira | Meeting the Ring-tailed Lemurs

After breakfast, you leave the Ranomafana rainforest and drive to Ambalavao, which is known for its vineyards. We visit the Anja Park, a conservation project run by the local community. We are warmly welcomed by the Kattas, the ring-tailed lemurs, and let our guide tell us the story of the three brothers.

Travel day 6: Hike through the sandstone massif of Isalo

Travel day 6: Hike through the sandstone massif of Isalo

For today, a three-hour hike through the park is planned. It will take us past Bara graves, the botanical garden, and finally to a freshwater oasis that invites us to a swim with its clear water. Afterwards, we will drive back to the hotel and visit the regional museum where the origin of the Isalo sandstone massif is clarified.

Travel day 7: Ranohiry - Toliara - Ifaty | The land of the baobabs

Right after a hearty breakfast, you will drive on National Road No. 7 towards Toliara. Our route takes us past the village of Ilakaka, which has gained more and more importance recently due to its sapphire market. Mahafaly graves and baobabs can regularly be seen along the roadside as we follow our route over Tulear to Ifaty.

Travel Day 8: Visit to the Reniala Park

In the morning you will be picked up by a zebu cart that takes you to the Reniala Park. The botanical garden features numerous endemic plant species, an impressive baobab forest, and a charming bird reserve. After these many diverse impressions, the afternoon is at your leisure, which you can spend, for example, relaxing by the sea.

Today you have the whole day at your disposal and you can relax on the dreamy white sandy beaches of Ifaty, swim in the sea, or go snorkeling and diving.

Travel Day 10: Return flight to the capital

You will be taken from our hotel to the airport of Toliara from where you will fly back to Antananarivo. Here too, you will be taken back to the hotel upon your arrival.

In the morning today, we will visit 'Ambohimanga', the UNESCO World Heritage site brings you closer to the history of Madagascar and there is time and opportunity for a last souvenir purchase at the crafts market.

Today, unfortunately, means saying goodbye to Madagascar. Packed with beautiful memories and photos, you board the plane that takes you back home.
