After the long flight, you will arrive at Ulaanbaatar Airport in the morning. Based on experience, jet lag can be challenging; we will first take a taxi to the accommodation and have coffee. Once all participants have arrived, a small city tour awaits you, with optional visits to the Gandan Monastery, the Winter Palace, the Soviet Monument with an overview of the city, and the Chijin Lama Monastery in the city center. In the evening, we will go out to eat together and hold the tour briefing.
In the early morning, we prepare motorcycles and support vehicles and will leave the city heading east. We bypass the Bogd Khan Uul mountain range towards Zuunmod and then descend from the asphalt into the vastness of the steppe landscape. A short stop at the Mother Earth stone Eej Khad shows us the Buddhist culture. From now on, we go full speed through the steppe southward until we reach the surreal rock landscape of Ikh Gazariin Chuluu, where we set up our camp. Approximately 333 km
The next day we continue south until we reach a rugged mountain range, the landscape of Tsagaan Suvraga. The scenery is characterized by red erosion remnants. With a bit of imagination, one can recognize the many shapes that gave the area its name. About 225 km
On this day we travel quite a way west until we reach the zombie town of Mandal Ovoo. A quick fuel stop forces us to stop, but then we head south quickly to the Flaming Cliffs. The area practically starts to burn due to the reddish clay soil in the evening light, hence the name. After every rain, new dinosaur bones are uncovered and scientific teams from all over the world are searching for new species. About 225 km
We first drive east to the Zuun Saykhany Nuruu mountains, where the vulture gorge is located. Many vultures actually fly through the air and we take a half-hour walk into the protected gorge. Then we drive west again over a pass, where it is worth stopping. A challenge with our enduros, but for the locals with their cars, it is an obstacle that they try to overcome by all means. The effort is worth it, the subsequent gorge to drive through is spectacular. After crossing the mountains, we drive along the gigantic sand dune Khongoriin Els. Experienced sand riders will get their money's worth, while newcomers will be able to have their first sand experience in peace. In a beautiful location, we will camp in the middle of the dune. About 250 km
In the morning, it first means crossing the dune, but the 15 kilometers will be manageable for all participants. If more sand riding is desired, we can head over the dune to the west. Otherwise, we will ride back into the mountains, along an ancient valley to Gurvantes. From here, the southwesternmost point of the journey, we head north again until we set up our camp at Gojoot. Perhaps we will find the spring that is marked on the maps, but is mostly dry. About 220 km
Today we travel north through all variations of the Gobi Desert. The sand becomes rockier and dry river valleys want to be crossed. The route leads us back up into the mountains after Bayanlig, until we drive through one of the most beautiful gorges of the tour. After crossing the mountains, we will spend the night at the northern edge of the mountains. About 200 km

Our tour guide is happy to answer any questions about the day-by-day route, stops, and details.
A long day awaits us, but the following rest day at the Ongiin River motivates us to ride through the steppe landscape on a good track towards the east. After leaving a few small towns behind us, we reach the Ongiin Gol River. For motorcycles, the crossing is easy thanks to a pedestrian bridge; the support vehicle will successfully cross the river. The last kilometers become hillier until we arrive at the huge ruins of Ongiin Khid, where a Ger (Mongolian yurt) camp with all amenities awaits us. About 290 km
Today we have earned a day of rest. Time to thoroughly explore the monastery ruins, bathe in the river, and get to know the interesting surroundings better.
With renewed strength, a swift ride through the steppe to the north awaits us, until we experience a dramatic change in landscape in the Khangai Mountains. From Uyanga, we ascend the green meadows in a gold miner's valley. We pass through lush green foothill landscapes, and there are even forests again. At Bat Olzij, we turn into the Orkhon Valley, which has been incredibly beautifully shaped by volcanic eruptions. We continue to travel further up the river, past black lava boulders until we arrive at the waterfall of the Ulan Gol.
Today we travel downstream through the bizarre lava and basalt landscape of the Orkhon Valley until we come across the former capital of Mongolia, Kharkhorin. Kharkhorin was founded during the time of Genghis Khan and is famous for the impressive Erdene Zuu Monastery. This huge monastery complex is a must on any trip to Mongolia and takes you deeper into the history of the country. We will spend the night in a nice ger camp overlooking the city. About 100 km
After the shock of the green Orchontal, we traverse the steppe one last time and will take the opportunity to practice the collected sand experience in the sand money Mongol Els. We camp on the edge of the dunes and enjoy the endless expanse of the steppe. About 140 km
Today we travel northeast through the steppe until we reach the Tuul River. We will follow it until we reach the civilization of Ulaanbaatar. In the evening, we will experience the city life of Ulaanbaatar one last time at a farewell dinner and then bid farewell to the land and drivers in a cozy gathering. About 265 km
The departure is imminent. The taxi will take you to the airport and you will be back home on the same day.
