The Journey

Travel enduro training for big motorcycles

Your motorcycle is larger and heavier than the small, light enduros? You don't have to fear loose terrain. In this off-road training for motorcycle riders, we will show you over two training days how to maneuver your big bike safely through the terrain. Specifically for large travel enduros, we have developed the big bike special: you will learn the appropriate travel enduro riding technique and master GS, Adventure and the like on loose terrain. The motorcycle off-road training takes place without luggage and cases, so you can fully concentrate on the exercises. The training takes place in Hof in the Westerwald, and a rental motorcycle is available upon request.

The training prepares you for gravel and off-road riding on a heavy travel enduro. Our motorcycle tours in Europe show you where to use it afterwards.

The first day of training starts with an introduction to the basics of travel enduro riding technique. You learn the correct standing posture, how to look, and how to sensitively control the clutch and throttle on loose ground. At a steady pace, you practice starting, braking, and slow maneuvering with your big bike, so you can get a feel for the weight of your GS or Adventure. The trainers provide you with direct feedback and adapt the exercises to your skill level.

Courtyard in the Westerwald - In-depth exploration in the terrain

On the second day, you deep dive into what you've learned and venture into more challenging terrain. You practice uphill and downhill riding, overcoming roots and steps, as well as tight turns on mud and loose soil. Step by step, you gain confidence in handling your heavy adventure bike and learn how to properly lift the motorcycle after a fall. To conclude, you ride longer sections at a time and combine all the techniques from the off-road training.

FAQS

  • Can I participate in the training with my own motorcycle?
    Yes, you can bring your own motorcycle. It should be street-legal and off-road capable. A good Enduro tire is recommended.
  • What prerequisites do I need for the training?
    The Enduro beginner training is aimed at beginners. You do not need any prior knowledge: about 70% of the participants have never been off-road before.
  • How many participants are there per training session?
    The groups consist of 2 to 6 participants so that our trainers can provide individual attention.
  • Does the training take place in all weather conditions?
    Yes, the training runs regardless of the weather. Please dress appropriately for the conditions and for all eventualities.
  • What equipment do I need for the training?
    For off-road, you mainly need sturdy motocross or enduro boots. A protective vest along with knee and shin guards will keep the protectors in place during ground contact. A breathable rider shirt and motocross pants help prevent overheating. Additional protectors in the jacket are not necessary, as you are already wearing them directly on your body.
  • Where will I stay during the course?
    There are hotels nearby, as well as a partner hotel of ours where you can even get a discount ;)
  • What is the terrain like for the course?
    We ride on private terrain where you will learn to handle your motorcycle without harming the environment. It is a mix of mud, loose soil, and more!
