The Journey
After arriving at Jomo Kenyatta Airport the day before, we are picking up our rental SUVs in Nairobi today and the adventure can begin. We quickly leave the busy hustle and bustle of the city behind and drive into the green Ngong Forest. The roads wind through densely wooded hills before we reach the remote Lake Magadi. The salty shores of the lake provide a unique habitat for various species, such as the pink flamingos. The rugged and fascinating routes already make the first day a real adventure.

Today is a relaxed day in Maasai territory. The village of Ngatataek sits at the heart of Maasai land. We explore local markets and visit a Maasai village. It is a rare chance to see the traditions of this proud people up close.
We cross the border into Tanzania and drive toward Arusha. The roads get busier and the land turns greener. Arusha is the gateway to Tanzania's northern safari parks. It welcomes us with lively markets and a relaxed vibe.
We drive through the gentle hills around Arusha to the village of Mto wa Mbu. The route is short but very scenic. That gives us plenty of time to explore. In the afternoon, we head into Lake Manyara National Park for a safari.
We leave our vehicles behind today. Instead, we spend the full day on safari in the Ngorongoro Crater. It is one of the world's most impressive nature reserves. The wildlife is diverse, and the scenery is spectacular. This day will stay with you.
Today we visit the remote Lake Eyasi. It is known for its rich birdlife and the unique traditions of the Hadzabe and Datoga peoples. We get a rare look into how these indigenous communities live.
We drive to Moshi, a town at the foot of Kilimanjaro — probably Africa's most famous mountain. On the way, we stop at the Maji Chemka hot springs. It is a perfect spot for a swim and a rest.
We start with a visit to the beautiful Materuni Waterfall. Then we continue to Lushoto in the Usambara Mountains. The drive winds through sharp bends, past tea plantations and lush forests.

This stage takes us through the Usambara Mountains to Tanga. Tight bends, steep climbs, and sweeping views make this one of the trip's best stretches.
After a traditional breakfast, we head south along the coast. We pass through small villages and drive by unspoiled beaches. Msambweni greets us with a calm and easy atmosphere.
The day kicks off with an exciting dolphin safari. Early in the morning, we watch these playful animals in their natural home. If we are lucky, we get to swim with them too.
We follow the coast to Diani Beach. We relax on the white sand and wash off the dust of the last two weeks.
We enjoy a lazy morning at Diani Beach. Then we take a short drive into the Shimba Hills. This hilly region offers gorgeous views and one last chance to enjoy Africa's wild nature.
We drive from Diani Beach to the stunning Lake Jipe. Along the way, we cross the Shimba Hills and reach the wide plains of Tsavo National Park. The scenery looks exactly like the Africa you see in nature films.
We return to Amboseli National Park. On the way, we pass remote villages and enjoy final views of Kilimanjaro. A safari in the park rounds off the day with unforgettable wildlife sightings.
On the last day, we drive back to Nairobi. We cross wide savannahs and lively towns one more time before we reach the vibrant Kenyan capital again.
