Days 1–12
Offroad-Reisen Namibia Anreisetag Akklimatisierung Stadterkundung

1. Arrival day

You arrive in the morning hours at the airport located 50 kilometers outside of Windhoek. From there, you will be picked up and taken to the hotel. The rest of the day is for acclimatization and city exploration.

Offroad-Reisen Botswana Etosha Fort Namutoni Tierherden

2. Drive from Windhoek to Etosha National Park

Our 4x4 self-drive safari starts from our office in Windhoek. We drive on the B1 north towards Otjiwarongo and Outjo in the Etosha National Park. Our camp for this evening is the Okaukuejo Camp. Until the evening, we still have some time to go on our first safari with our 4x4 vehicles. In the evening, you can sit on a bench at the illuminated waterhole in the camp and relax while observing the animals that come to drink late into the night.

3. Otjitotongwe Kamanjab

Today we are going to the 'Save the Cheetah' project. Today offers a unique experience with the cheetahs, which you can experience and feed 'up close'. A cool swimming pool is also available to you here. You can also optionally go on a bushwalk. Unfortunately, we have no electricity in the area, so we cook with gas.

4. Epupa Falls

We leave the camp very early and drive over Opuwa. On the way, we refuel and replenish our supplies for the coming days and head to the Epupa Falls. In the language of the locals, Epupa means falling water. It describes the foam and the sound that falling water causes as it hits the rocks. We set up our tents at the camp for the next 2 nights. The camp is located on the banks of the Kunene River and is surrounded by palm trees. Next, we visit the waterfalls and the surrounding area, as well as a traditional Himba village, which is the highlight of this day. We prepare ourselves with an off-road training session at the campsite for the off-roading that awaits us in the coming days.

Offroad-Reisen Namibia Kaokoveld Heimat Abgeschiedenheit

5. Kaokoveld

The Kaokoveld is located northwest and is one of the most untouched areas of Namibia. The barely navigable area in the south of the Kunene River is home to the Himba ethnic group. They live in the seclusion of the Kaokoveld, preserve their identity, and express their ethnic culture. Our 4X4 expedition vehicles allow us to travel through the off-road area. Our experienced guide takes us through the extremely sandy, dusty, and hardly signposted region. Without an experienced guide, this would hardly be possible.

Offroad-Reisen Botswana Caprivizipfel Elefantenherden Zambesi

6. Van Zyl's Pass

The entire route today is approximately 140 Km long. We are expected to take the whole day for it, as the extremely poor road conditions are making our journey difficult. Tonight we will spend the night in the wilderness, near the top of the Van Zyl Pass.

8. Palmwag

Another day spent in the wilderness searching for wild animals of Africa. We are heading south to Damaraland. Our campsite today is at Palmwag in the midst of Damaraland. Our accommodation here has a swimming pool, a restaurant, bar, etc.

Offroad-Reisen Botswana Chobe Maun Delta

9. Brand Mountain

Today we drive south to Twyfelfontein. We have enough time to explore the area. We visit the burnt mountain with the rock engravings and the organ pipes. We spend the night at the White Lady campsite.

Erlebnis-Reisen Sudafrika Cederberg Region Rooibos Gastfreundschaft

10. Swakopmund

Today we drive west to the Atlantic and then south to Swakopmund. We spend our last night here and take a look at the 'German town'. In the afternoon, you have numerous dune rides available optionally.

11. Return trip to Windhoek

We are returning to Windhoek. Lunch will be on the way today. After arrival, you will return the car and be taken to the hotel or directly to the airport, which concludes our tour. We will bring all participants to the airport by shuttle for the return flight to Europe. Optionally, you can also extend your stay in Windhoek by one day.

12. Extension day in Windhoek (optional)

You can design this day in Windhoek yourself or we recommend a 'city program'.
