The New Year's Eve you won't forget

At midnight you won't hear fireworks, but the crackle of the fire and maybe a single-cylinder engine cooling down in camp. Above you, a starry sky with no city light, dunes all around. We have been riding enduros into the Sahara over New Year's Eve since 1999, and the night in the desert has been part of it ever since.

By now you can choose between two tours: Tunisia starting in Genoa or Morocco starting in Málaga. Both last 15 days, both end in the new year. But they differ in terrain, in where you sleep and in how sporty they get.

Enduro group in the Tunisian Sahara over New Year's Eve

Tunisia: Grand Erg Oriental and desert camp

The Tunisia tour starts with the night ferry from Genoa to Tunis. From there you ride south on sand and stone tracks, past oasis towns and the Star Wars film sets around Mos Espa, deep into the Grand Erg Oriental. You sleep in wild camps and oases, and cooking is done together in the expedition kitchen.

A guide, a mechanic and a support vehicle come along. Departure is on 19 December 2026, and you are back in Genoa on 2 January 2027. The price starts at €2,679.

No motorcycle of your own? You can rent a Yamaha Ténéré 700 or similar, or join as a passenger in the support vehicle. Places for this are limited per tour.

Morocco: Atlas, Erg Chebbi and kasbahs

In Morocco, everything begins in Málaga. You take the ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar, then ride your enduro over the passes of the High Atlas to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, which are up to 150 m high. Along the way you pass the blue city of Chefchaouen, Fès, the kasbahs in the south and the film sets near Ouarzazate.

You sleep in kasbahs and small hotels. A multilingual guide and a support vehicle accompany the group. This tour is aimed at experienced riders, because technical tracks and deep sand demand solid off-road skills. Departure is on 25 December 2026, the tour ends on 9 January 2027, from €2,989.

Ferry or flight: how to get there

For both tours you have three options:

  • You have your motorcycle transported and fly yourself. Transport costs €250 to Tunisia and €500 to Morocco.
  • You travel to the port together with us.
  • Or we meet directly at the port in Genoa or Málaga.

If you ride your motorcycle onto the ferry yourself, you book the crossing through us at the group rate. Over the holidays the ferries are usually fully booked, and ferry prices will rise by 10 % soon. So booking early pays off twice.

Which tour suits you?

Do you want pure desert, wild camps and a group that cooks together in the evening? Then the New Year's Eve tour in Tunisia is your tour. Someone without their own motorcycle can also join here as a passenger.

Do you want more variety between mountains, cities and dunes, prefer sleeping in a bed and have solid off-road experience? Then the New Year's Eve tour in Morocco is a better fit.

Whichever you choose: call us or book an online appointment, and we will go through travel, motorcycle and gear together.
