The Journey
South Africa
The africa overland tour begins in Johannesburg, gateway to the southern safari circuit.

Botswana
Botswana is the heart of this africa overland tour — home to the okavango delta safari, Makgadikgadi Salt Pans and Chobe's elephant herds.
The africa overland tour rolls north from Johannesburg on the Trans-Kalahari Highway toward the Botswana border. The landscape shifts from urban outskirts to open savanna as you cross the frontier and reach the first overnight stop at Palapye. Meals: lunch, dinner.
Drive north through the Kalahari Desert toward the Okavango Delta. Pass the Orapa Diamond Mine — one of the world's largest — before reaching the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, a 3,900 sq km salt-pan reserve rich in wildlife. Arrive Maun by evening. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Today the okavango delta safari begins. Early risers can book an optional helicopter flight over the delta before the truck heads into the Khwai Reserve. The Okavango Delta is the world's largest inland delta and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide briefs the group on mokoro canoe protocol. Bags for two nights away from the truck should be packed. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
A full day botswana safari tour inside the Moremi Game Reserve. Small 4x4 vehicles take you across 5,000 sq km of wetlands, grasslands and savanna in search of elephant, leopard, wild dog and hippo. The reserve is one of Africa's most biodiverse protected areas. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
After sunrise over the Okavango Delta, return to Maun and rejoin the overland truck. Continue to the Nata Salt Pans — a 2,000 sq km section of the Makgadikgadi complex where seasonal flamingo gatherings and zebra migrations draw africa wildlife safari enthusiasts. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
The chobe national park safari day begins with a morning drive to Chobe, Botswana's third largest park at 12,000 sq km. After lunch, board a boat for an afternoon river safari on the Chobe River, where Africa's largest elephant population comes to drink and swim alongside hippos and crocodiles. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe delivers the victoria falls tour, one of the most dramatic natural stops on the entire africa overland tour route.
Cross into Zimbabwe and reach the victoria falls tour centrepiece — 'Mosi-oa-Tunya', the smoke that thunders. Over 1 km wide and 108 m deep, the Victoria Falls are the world's largest waterfall by area. The Zambezi thunders into Batoka Gorge, throwing a mist column 500 m high. Optional: helicopter flights, sunset Zambezi cruise, bungee jump, white-water rafting. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
A full free day at Victoria Falls. Explore the rainforest path along the gorge rim, visit the craft market, or book optional adrenaline activities. Transfer to the hotel in Livingstone, Zambia runs at 08:00 or 16:00 — specify your preference at booking. Meals: breakfast, dinner.
Zambia
Zambia takes the africa overland tour through the Kafue corridor, Lusaka and the exceptional south luangwa safari zone.
An early start as the truck leaves Livingstone heading east. Colorful roadside markets and rural villages offer a vivid picture of east African daily life. The route follows the Zambezi Valley before arriving at Chirundu on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border. Meals: breakfast, dinner.
A rest day beside the Kafue River, a tributary of the Zambezi. The lodge sits on the riverbank — ideal for fishing. Safari-keen travelers can join an optional game drive in the Lower Zambezi National Park, or explore Chirundu town's lively border culture. Malawi
Malawi — the warm heart of Africa — provides two lakeside rest days on this africa overland tour.
