We recommend that you take a night flight from Europe to Auckland so that you arrive at Auckland Airport in the morning and can enjoy the rest of the day. For an additional fee, a transfer to the Sudima Hotel Auckland City can be arranged, where you can check in. The rooms are available from 3:00 PM. The afternoon is free for you to explore the area or relax. In the evening, the tour guide will greet you at the hotel.
Our journey starts heading south, where the picturesque Coromandel Peninsula awaits you. Discover the golden sandy beaches and the pristine nature of this region. In historic towns like Thames and Coromandel, you switch to the nostalgic Driving Creek Railway, a narrow-gauge railway that takes you deep into the rainforest. Another highlight is the famous Hot Water Beach, where hot thermal springs bubble through the sand at low tide. Overnight stay in a small coastal town on the eastern side of the peninsula.
The today's route leads along the coast to Rotorua, the cultural center of the Maori and the 'hot heart' of the North Island. The impressive Lake Rotorua, nestled in a volcanic caldera, offers fascinating thermal areas and stunning landscapes.
A morning visit to the Whakarewarewa Thermal Park and the cultural center Te Puia awaits you. In addition to the impressive geysers, you will learn about Maori traditions and can observe rare kiwi birds in the nocturnal house. During lunch, enjoy dishes from the traditional Hangi earth oven, followed by a colorful folklore show with dances, songs, and the famous Haka war dance.
After a visit to a kiwi breeding station, the journey continues to the mystical Waitomo Caves, where thousands of glowworms enchant the caves. Further travel through the green landscape of the Waikato region to Hamilton. A walk in the Botanical Garden rounds off the day.
With the Northern Explorer train, you will experience an impressive journey through the volcanic landscape of Tongariro National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trip ends in Wellington, the elegant capital of New Zealand.
Through the Remutaka Mountains you will reach the wine region of Martinborough, where you can taste the spicy Pinot Noir on a wine tour. On the way back, you will visit the Zealandia nature reserve, a paradise for endangered species.
Explore Wellington on your own. Highlights include the waterfront promenade, the National Museum Te Papa, and the famous red Cable Car.
The ferry crossing to the South Island takes you through the idyllic Marlborough Sounds. Afterwards, the Coastal Pacific train takes you along the spectacular East Coast to Christchurch.

Visit to the gold mining settlement of Arrowtown and continued drive through the Westland National Park to the Franz Josef Glacier. Optional: Helicopter flights over the glacier landscape.
Visit to the glacier tongue and drive along the west coast to Greymouth. In Hokitika, you will learn more about the processing of greenstone.
A detour to the Pancake Rocks in Paparoa National Park is a must. The return trip to Christchurch is via the TranzAlpine Express, which offers spectacular views.
After breakfast, your experience trip ends. An airport transfer can be arranged upon request.
