Days 1-14

Bogotá - Arrival & Transfer

Arrive in Bogotá, the starting point of your 14-day Colombia tour. You will be welcomed at the airport and taken to your hotel, Casa de la Vega (or similar). The rest of the day is yours to acclimatise to the altitude of the capital, located at 2,600 metres, and to gather your first impressions.

Bogotá - Fruits & Monserrate

Your 14-day Colombia tour begins with a fruit tour at the Paloquemao market, where you will taste exotic varieties and sample fresh juices. In the afternoon, you will explore the historic district of La Candelaria and Bolívar Square. To conclude, the Bogotá Monserrate cable car will take you to 3,200 metres, offering a wide view over the sprawling city.

Guatavita & Zipaquirá - Salt

Today, this cultural journey through Colombia takes you north. First, you will visit the Guatavita Lagoon, the legendary site of the El Dorado myth of the Muisca. After a short hike, you will continue to the famous Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá - an underground church entirely carved from salt. Afterwards, you will return to Bogotá.

Bogotá - Pitalito - San Agustín

Fly from Bogotá to Pitalito and transfer to San Agustín. After checking in, your coffee tour in Colombia begins at Finca La Cabaña: farmer Luis Alejandro will show you the journey of the bean from seed to cup and invite you to taste his specialty coffees. Depending on your flight time, the coffee farm may also be visited on a later day.

After a city tour of San Agustín and a visit to the local market, you will visit the San Agustín Archaeological Park. On this day of your Colombia adventure, you will visit the Magdalena River gorge, the narrowest point of Colombia's longest river at just two metres, surrounded by dense Andean forest. Nearby is the town of Obando with ancient graves and a small museum. The afternoon is free for optional activities such as rafting, horseback riding, cycling, or simply relaxing in nature.

San Agustín - Popayán

A bumpy but scenic drive through the rugged Andes takes you to Popayán. Founded in 1537, the white city of Popayán owes its name to its brightly whitewashed colonial buildings. During a short city tour, you will get to know the historic centre. Overnight at Hotel Camino Real (or similar).

Popayán - Silvia - Cali

In the morning, travel to Cali with a stop in the mountain village of Silvia. A shaman will introduce you to the traditions and customs of the Guambianos indigenous culture. You will then continue through the Cauca Valley to Cali. In the salsa capital, you will take a taster course to get your dancing feet moving.

Cali - Santa Marta - Taganga

After breakfast, fly to the Colombian Caribbean coast to Santa Marta (directly or via Bogotá). On the transfer to your hotel near Tayrona National Park, you will stop in the fishing village of Taganga. The rest of the day is free for exploration or relaxation. Tayrona National Park - Hiking

A day trip takes you to Tayrona National Park, one of the most famous parks in South America. Here, dense tropical forests meet palm-fringed Caribbean beaches. You will hike to the park's most beautiful bays, where you can swim and enjoy nature. Return to the hotel in the evening.

Tayrona - Cartagena

Transfer back to Santa Marta and continue along the Caribbean coast, passing Barranquilla, to the former pirate city. The colonial city of Cartagena combines Caribbean joy of life with colonial heritage like few other places and is a highlight of any trip to Colombia. Transfer to Hotel Kartaxa in the city centre (or similar).

Cartagena - City Tour

On a half-day city tour, you will discover the colonial treasures of the city, including the mighty San Felipe de Barajas Fortress and the walled old town. Along the way, you will sample local specialities from street vendors such as Arepas de Queso, Chicharrones, or Limonadas. The afternoon is free for you to explore.

Cartagena - Café del Mar

The day is free for your own explorations - optional activities are available, or you can discover Cartagena on your own. To conclude this Colombia adventure, you will meet in the late afternoon at Café del Mar on the city wall, where you can enjoy a cocktail at sunset and relax as the journey comes to a close.

Cartagena - Departure

Depending on your flight time, the last morning of your 14-day Colombia tour is free for you to enjoy. At the agreed time, you will be taken to the airport. If desired, the trip can be extended with optional add-ons. End of the journey - beginning of the memories.
