Days 1–6
Arrival at Sibiu
Your journey begins in a small, quaint guesthouse near Sibiel, not far from Sibiu. After check-in, you will be greeted warmly and enjoy a communal dinner featuring traditional Romanian cuisine: freshly baked bread, Sarmale, creamy Polenta with Brânză, and a glass of homemade Țuică. In a sociable atmosphere, you will get to know the group.
Weekly market and first off-road tracks
The first day of the tour starts relaxed around 10 o'clock. First, you visit a traditional Romanian weekly market and stock up on the last supplies. Then you leave the paved roads and follow lonely paths along a small, rushing stream to the first foothills of the Cindrel Mountains.
Cindrel Mountains, pure nature
Today you will spend the whole day in the Cindrel Mountains, far away from civilization. On lonely paths and remote trails, you encounter shepherds with their flocks of sheep. Numerous panoramic views over forests and mountains invite you to pause and take photos.

Western Carpathians and Apuseni Mountains
After a short asphalt stage, you switch to the Western Carpathians, also known as Muntii Apuseni. The route leads through the Transylvanian Erzgebirge with wide valleys, dense forests, and dramatic rock formations. A highlight is the section at Gemsenstein, where with a bit of luck you may spot wild chamois.
Land of the Motzen, Canyon and Monastery
Today, you will go deep into the land of the Motzen. You will take a hike through a narrow canyon with crystal-clear streams and visit a monastery from the 13th century. You will set up camp at the foot of the Sleeping Giant, a distinctive mountain massif.
High Trails and Farewell
In conclusion, you cross the Western Carpathians on dreamlike high-altitude trails with spectacular panoramic views and exciting off-road routes. After that, it’s time to bid farewell and depart individually, reflecting on authenticity, hospitable people, and impressive landscapes.
