Our Kenya motorcycle tours cover a real range of riding. The easiest is the 9-day Maasai Mara Safari Ride, which runs mostly on firm gravel and dirt tracks and suits riders with solid piste experience. The tours through Aberdare National Park, the Rift Valley and on to the Indian Ocean over 13 days are more technical: loose surfaces, deep potholes and washboard gravel call for confidence standing on the pegs and braking off-road.
You won't ride your own bike here. Because of the long journey to East Africa, OVERCROSS provides a prepared enduro motorcycle on every Kenya tour, together with a guide and a support vehicle that carries luggage and handles technical backup along the way.
Depending on the tour you're on the road for 9 to 13 days, covering daily stages of roughly 150 to 225 km on a mix of gravel, dirt tracks and short tarmac sections between Nairobi, the Rift Valley, the Maasai Mara and, on some tours, the Indian Ocean coast. Each day opens with a briefing on the route and GPS tracks, then runs through parks like Aberdare or Amboseli and along Lake Naivasha, support vehicle close behind. Evenings bring camps at the edge of the reserves or mid-range hotels and lodges, often with a chance to spot wildlife or meet the Maasai.
The Maasai Mara Safari Ride needs only solid gravel riding experience, since it is our easiest Kenya tour. For the routes through Aberdare National Park, the Rift Valley, and on to the Indian Ocean you should be confident standing up off-road, braking on loose surfaces and handling potholes.
