Ready for your next big adventure on two wheels? Our 8-day guided motorcycle tour through the Southern Carpathians in Romania is more than a tour – it’s a real bike experience.
The Journey
Your motorcycle trip to Romania starts in one of the most exciting metropolises of Eastern Europe: Bucharest, the capital. Here, past and present meet – impressive socialist architecture, hidden old town alleys, hip bars, and vibrant street culture. Right at the beginning, we visit the gigantic Palace of the Parliament, the second-largest administrative building in the world after the Pentagon and a symbol of Romanian history. Take the time for a stroll through the charming old town district of Lipscani, enjoy a typical Romanian craft wine or Pálinka in a stylish wine bar, or just let yourself be carried away by the colorful city life. The cafés, street art, and laid-back nightlife make Bucharest a real surprise. You will spend the night at the Parliament Hotel – one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, overlooking the monumental government district and just a few steps away from the hotspots. Perfect for arriving and immersing yourself.

Today the adventure on two wheels really begins. The first stage of your motorcycle journey through the Carpathians leads over the Rucar-Bran Pass, the "Gateway to the Carpathians". The route winds with curves and serpentine paths through dense forests and past wide valleys – an ideal start to warm up. Here you will feel for the first time the freedom and riding enjoyment for which Romania is known among bikers.
Today you dive into the mysterious world of Transylvania. The first stop is Bran Castle, better known as Dracula's Castle, which towers high on a rock. Then it's time to put on your helmet for the highlight: The Transfagarasan motorcycle trip takes you through endless curves and steep serpentine roads of the Carpathians, crowned by Top Gear as the best road in the world. You will spend the night at the deep blue Bâlea Lake at over 2,000 m altitude.
After the mountain air of the Carpathians, you continue your motorcycle tour in Romania to the Olt Valley, a scenically impressive route with wooded mountain slopes, rocky gorges, and clear rivers. The destination is Sibiu (Hermannstadt), European Capital of Culture in 2007. Cobblestone streets, colorful facades, and baroque squares await you. You spend the night in the charming old town with a glass of local wine.
