About Fabio Giannuzzi
At 39, Fabio looks back on six years of intensive experience in Africa, including numerous trips through Morocco. For seven years he has lived and worked full-time in his camper. For him, travelling isn't a holiday; it's everyday life.
For six years Fabio led motorhome groups through Morocco, around 25 tours in all. For two of those years the route carried on south, through Western Sahara to Mauritania. So he knows not only how to get himself through the sand but how to get a whole convoy there: bogged-down vehicles, border crossings and the small breakdowns that simply come with Africa.
Besides Morocco, he keeps returning to West Africa. There he knows not only the well-known routes but also many kilometres of track far from paved roads.
His real passion is sand. The softer, deeper and more demanding the ground, the more Fabio is in his element. He loves driving in the desert, searching for new routes and the moment when an ordinary track turns into a real off-road adventure.
He also brings the calm and composure you need in sand. Because out there, one rule applies: more throttle is not always the best solution.
He travels in his own fitted-out Toyota Hilux. With German and Italian roots, Fabio speaks German, English and Italian and gets by well in French, which opens many doors in Morocco and West Africa.
