In the heart of the Cordillera Blanca, the Duck Gorge Cañón del Pato and the Huascarán National Park await with glaciers and deep blue mountain lakes. After that, it's down to the Pacific coast to the massive adobe city of Chan Chan. The routes are challenging, with significant elevation changes and about 25 percent off-road. • Travelers from the EU and Switzerland need a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the date of departure. No visa is required for stays up to 90 days.

  • Yes. We will expect you in the arrivals hall and will be easily recognizable. Please do not leave the hall until we have found each other. We track your flight online and respond to changes in the arrival time.
  • Check whether your health and accident insurance also covers you abroad, and supplement it with travel cancellation, repatriation, and legal protection if necessary. Pay attention to worldwide validity and note the emergency numbers.

  • In larger towns and usually along the route, you will have reception. In remote mountain areas, it may be patchy. Affordable travel rates are worthwhile; most hotels offer free Wi-Fi.
  • The route mixes well-built asphalt with gravel and off-road sections (about 25%). There are tolls on main roads, which are often exempt for motorcycles. We specify the off-road percentage in the itinerary.
  • The risks depend on the stage. Daily briefings reduce the risk of accidents. Traffic in large cities is lively, and animals roam freely in rural areas. We recommend defensive driving, full protective gear, and zero alcohol.
  • In larger cities, there are well-equipped clinics. In remote mountain areas, the care is limited. A powerful travel insurance with an emergency number is mandatory for this long-distance trip.
  • There is no fixed best time, as Peru has several climate zones. In the Andean highlands, April to October is ideal. Our tour calendar is aligned with the climate and weather; dates are available upon request.
  • At altitude, headaches, fatigue, or shortness of breath can occur. Our stages are designed for slow acclimatization. Plenty of fluids, coca tea, and “Sorojchi” tablets help. We carry an oximeter and blood pressure monitor.
  • For this tour, you can budget about 110 euros for fuel. Refueling is done per gallon (3.8 liters), paid in cash or by card.
  • On this trip, you will ride the Yamaha Ténéré 700, a lightweight and off-road capable travel enduro with real rally character. It fully displays its strengths on the gravel and off-road sections of this demanding route.
  • In the support vehicle, usually only one seat (maximum two) is available. It is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
