The Journey

Enduro Andalusia: Your Offroad Winter in Southern Spain

Andalusia is the south that enduro riders dream of in winter: dry slopes, rugged mountain ranges, endless gravel tracks, and temperatures that often exceed 18 °C even in January. This is where your off-road winter escape begins with an 8-day enduro trip that caters to both beginners and experienced riders alike. From the sun-drenched coast of La Herradura, it ventures deep into the mountain world between Málaga, Granada, and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada: diverse, warm, challenging, and authentic. Before we hit the trails, you'll receive a half-day off-road basic training that provides you with confidence and sharpens your technique. After that, expect 70-80% off-road content, hidden paths, white villages, lonely mountain roads, and terrain that changes daily. And if you ever want to relax for a day, you're no more than two minutes from the beach. Facts at a glance: - 8-day enduro tour with five guided daily stages through the mountains of Andalusia - 70-80% off-road content: gravel, rocks, single trails, mountain tracks, and nature paths - Routes between coast and mountains: La Herradura, Almuñécar, Alpujarras, Sierra de Almijara - Pleasant winter climate: approx. 17-20 °C in February, about 5-7 hours of sun daily, very little precipitation - Ideal for beginners and advanced riders thanks to technical basic training on the first riding day - Daily riding times: approx. 4-6 hours, with breaks in mountain villages off the tourist paths - Terrain variety: coastal slopes, pine forests, slate passages, dry riverbeds, altitudes up to 1,500 m - Accommodation in a beach hotel: just a few steps to the sea - Own enduro or rental motorcycle (light Honda enduros just over 100 kg, low seat height, and electric start) - Flexible route choice: technical sections optionally bypassable, your pace decides - Companion possible: hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, diving, and city excursions - Safeguard: German-speaking guide, 25 years of Overcross experience, complete organization and technical support - Easy access: direct flight to Málaga, only about 1 hour transfer to La Herradura (bus 6 €) Why this motorcycle trip through Andalusia is special: It combines the freedom of an off-road journey through one of the driest, sunniest regions of Europe with a relaxed base on the Mediterranean coast. You ride challenging trails, enjoy warm winter days, meet like-minded people, and discover a Spain that many motorcyclists never get to see.

La Herradura - Arrival and Evening by the Sea

Your enduro journey through Andalusia begins in the coastal town of La Herradura, about 60 km east of Málaga and 80 km south of Granada. The region is one of the driest and sunniest areas in Europe: ideal conditions for an enduro tour in winter. You can arrive by your own means or fly to Málaga; the bus to the town costs about 6 €. After checking in at the hotel just a few minutes' walk from the beach, we will unwind and get ready for the upcoming off-road stages.

Sierra Almijara - Offroad Basic Training

To kick off your motorcycle journey through Andalusia, a half-day off-road basic training is on the agenda: balance, braking on loose surfaces, cornering techniques while standing, and behavior on gravel and slate. Experienced riders will receive tips for more challenging maneuvers. After lunch on the beach, we head into the hinterland of the Sierra Almijara. The first mountain tracks, gravel roads, and nature trails await to apply what you’ve learned and get into the flow.

Alpujarras - white mountain villages and mountain ridges

Today we go deep into the Andalusian mountain world: pine forests, rocky steps, steep ascents and descents, and long gravel stretches, which are typical for the region between Almuñécar and the Alpujarras. The stage of this Enduro-Andalusia tour takes us through white mountain villages away from mass tourism, where we stop for lunch. Depending on the group and conditions, we ride off-road for 4-6 hours and discover our first panoramic routes with views of the sea and mountains.

La Herradura - Rest day at the beach

Today you set the pace. You can relax on the beach, stroll comfortably through La Herradura, take a trip to Nerja, Málaga, or Granada, or still go for a ride if you have the energy. The rest day is intentionally built into the enduro tour to help regenerate the body and concentration before the longer off-road stages follow. This day is also ideal for companions to explore the region around your motorcycle journey through Andalusia.

Today you will reach heights between 1,000 and 1,500 meters, depending on the weather and group. The trails are dry, dusty, and winding, typical for the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada.
