No visa is required for most EU citizens if the stay is less than 183 days. The visa is available upon entry and does not require prior online registration. Check before traveling whether your nationality is included in the visa exemption program. Otherwise, you should apply for a visa in a timely manner.

The International Airport Jorge Chávez in Lima is the best choice for entering Peru. It is a well-connected airport with numerous international flights. Plan transfers to other cities (e.g. Cusco) in advance, as domestic flights are often fully booked. Take the opportunity to explore the capital before starting to ride a motorcycle.

The local currency in Peru is the Sol (PEN). Credit cards are accepted in many cities, but you should always keep cash handy, especially in rural areas. You can withdraw Sol from ATMs; be mindful of fees. It is advisable to carry some cash for small expenses and tips.

No vaccinations are required for entry, but it is recommended to get vaccinated against hepatitis A/B and typhoid. A travel insurance is also advisable to cover any medical expenses. Also check the altitude sickness precautions, as many motorcycle routes lead to high altitudes.

A national driver's license is sufficient for renting a motorcycle in Peru, but an international driver's license is recommended. To purchase a SIM card, visit local providers like Claro or Movistar. These are available in shopping malls and at the airport. Make sure to have your identification and top-up balance ready.
