Are you looking for a motorcycle adventure in Peru Andes? This guided motorcycle tour in Peru takes you over 15 days on about 2,900 kilometers from Lima through the Andes to Machu Picchu. Along the way, the Nazca Lines, Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, and the ancient Inca capital Cusco await.
The Journey
This guided motorcycle tour of Peru takes you over the Andean passes to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Machu Picchu, the most famous Inca ruin in South America, in 15 days. In the Sacred Valley, you explore ancient cultural sites, before heading off the beaten tourist paths through Abancay, Andahuaylas, and Ayacucho back to the coast. As a true Andean motorcycle adventure, curves, altitude, and wide panoramas characterize each stage. In Paracas, the Ballestas Islands await with sea lions and penguins, before you roll along the Pan-American Highway to Nazca and Lake Titicaca. Whether Colca Canyon or Cusco – this motorcycle tour of Peru's Andes shows you pure South America on two wheels!
Welcome to your motorcycle adventure Peru Andes! After landing at Jorge Chávez Airport, we will take you directly to your hotel. Here you have time to arrive, catch your breath, and recover from the long flight before the tour officially begins.
Before the motorcycle trip in Peru really starts, we explore Lima, the "City of Kings." In the UNESCO-protected Old Town, you can see the Plaza de Armas with its colonial buildings and the Presidential Palace. In the afternoon, there is time for Miraflores and the cliffs above the Pacific. (Entry fees payable on site, not included.)
The first stage of your Andes motorcycle adventure takes you along the Pan-American Highway for about 300 kilometers south, always along the Pacific coast with dunes and oases. The destination is the picturesque desert oasis of Huacachina, nestled between palm trees and massive sand mountains – a perfect first day of riding in the saddle.
Further south rolls the motorcycle tour Peru Andes along the Pan-American Highway, past endless vineyards and Pisco wineries. After about 150 relaxed kilometers, we reach the legendary city of Nazca, famous for its mysterious geoglyphs in the desert.
Today the motorcycles are resting. Optionally, you can fly in a small airplane over the Nazca Lines and admire the enormous geoglyphs of monkey, spider, and hummingbird from the air. A highlight of this Peru motorcycle trip off the saddle. (Flight not included in the price.)
Back in the saddle: After approximately 165 kilometers along the Pacific coast, we reach the lonely bay of Puerto Inka. Here, where the Incas once dried fish for Cusco, penguins, pelicans, and sea lions now call untouched nature home – a quiet day of travel by the sea.
About 230 kilometers long, the motorcycle tour through Peru leads along the rugged coast to Camaná. The people here live from fishing and mining, in the fertile river valleys between the desert and the Andes are small, green fields. A day of contrasts between sea and mountains.
Now we leave the coast towards Colca Canyon: 90 kilometers of asphalt, then 210 kilometers off-road up into the highlands. The third deepest canyon in the world is home to the Andean condor. This Andean motorcycle adventure ends today in Chivay at 3,635 meters – the first night at high altitude.
Off to Puno at Lake Titicaca. We roll about 300 kilometers over the airy pass Pata Pampa at 4,890 meters, 60 of which are on gravel – a true highlight of the motorcycle trip in Peru. Along the way, vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas greet us at the roadside, while the Andes rise ever higher.
Today the motorcycles rest. We visit the floating reed islands of the Uros and the island of Taquile. Lake Titicaca is at 3,812 meters, up to 281 meters deep, and a true natural wonder of this Peru motorcycle trip. In the evening, there is time to further acclimatize to the altitude. (Entry fees payable on site, not included.)
380 kilometers leads the motorcycle tour Peru Andes to Cusco, the ancient Inca capital and the "navel of the world". The historically significant city at 3,326 meters is one of the most popular destinations in South America. Cobblestones, monasteries, and Inca walls await you at the end of the day.

A free day in Cusco, the vibrant heart of your motorcycle journey in Peru. Explore museums and churches, stroll through the San Pedro market, or relax with a coffee at the Plaza de Armas and watch the colorful hustle and bustle just the way you like it.
Now the lonely return journey begins: Via Abancay to Andahuaylas at 2,900 meters in the valley of the Río Chumba. About 340 winding kilometers with constant ups and downs and changing climatic zones make this stage the driving highlight of the motorcycle tour Peru Andes.
240 winding kilometers lead the motorcycle trip through the Andes to Ayacucho, also known as Huamanga, at 2,760 meters. Away from the tourist paths, an authentic Peru awaits you here with colonial churches and a lively center – real South America feeling.
About 230 kilometers lead the final stage of the motorcycle tour Peru Andes back to Lima. In the evening, we review the journey with a communal meal and toast to the kilometers traveled. Here ends the active part of your motorcycle adventure.
At the end of your motorcycle adventure Peru Andes, we will take you to Jorge Chávez Airport. With many memories of Machu Picchu, the Andes, and the Pacific coast, you will embark on your return flight to Europe. We look forward to welcoming you back at Overcross soon!
