You will explore remote mountain villages, discover the wild heart of the Femundsmarka National Park, and encounter the traces of centuries-old history in Røros (one of the oldest wooden towns in Norway).

Daily program: 4x4 Winter holiday: Norway and a touch of Sweden
Day 1: Arrival and Getting to Know Each Other
In the late afternoon, we meet at a typical Norwegian hotel near Oslo (the capital of Norway). There, we can expect a warm welcome and an initial getting to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere. After check-in, there will be a detailed briefing about our upcoming 4x4 adventure trip, during which we will attune ourselves to the coming days and receive all essential information about the route, equipment, and highlights of the tour. We will end the evening in style - with a joint dinner featuring traditional regional specialties such as reindeer, salmon, or brunost, accompanied by Nordic flavors and cozy togetherness.
Day 2: Quick Detour to Sweden
Today, our off-road tour really begins: We make our way with our off-road vehicles through the gently rolling plains and endless fragrant pine forests of southeastern Norway. A special moment awaits us at the crossing of the mighty Glomma, Norway's longest and most water-rich river. Our route continues along remote, narrow backroads and hidden paths that evoke the true feeling of adventure. As the day progresses, we approach the Swedish border and finally reach Sälen, one of Sweden's most famous winter sports resorts, nestled in a beautiful mountain landscape. Our accommodation for the night is a cozy mountain hotel that invites relaxation with its rustic charm and Scandinavian hospitality.
Day 3: Cold Record in Røros
Over snowy road sections and past deeply snow-covered forests, today we cross the border back into Norway. Our destination: the Femundsmarka National Park, a remote wilderness area known for its pristine nature and arctic silence. Amid snow-covered mountains and frozen lakes, we experience true Nordic adventure. With a bit of luck and sharp eyes, we might spot moose, reindeer, or even brown bears in the wild :-). In the late evening, we finally reach Røros, one of the coldest cities in Norway and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The former mining town delights with its colorful wooden houses, cobblestone streets, and a uniquely special atmosphere - as if from another time. Here, an incredible -50.4 °C was recorded in winter 1914 - a historical cold record! No worries: Our comfortable hotel is well heated and offers all the comforts to relax after this off-road journey and recharge.
Day 4: Drive over the Legendary E6
We cross lonely plateaus where nature sets the pace and vastness and silence dictate the rhythm. The route through this sparsely populated region conveys a sense of freedom and deceleration. Throughout the day, we encounter the legendary E6, which is considered the longest continuous road connection in Scandinavia and symbolizes Nordic vastness and adventure. In the evening, we finally reach Trondheim, the former royal city on the Trondheimfjord. Here we check into our rooms in a historic city hotel that captivates with its authentic charm and stylish atmosphere.
Day 5: The Atlantic Road in Winter
Today we say goodbye to Trondheim, the northernmost point of our tour, and turn towards the North Sea - the coast of Norway. The landscape changes: fjords give way to the open sea, and gentle hills transform into cliffs. In the afternoon, we reach an absolute highlight of our route: the Atlanterhavsvegen (the Atlantic Road). It is considered one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world and is a masterpiece of Norwegian engineering. We travel over elegant bridge arches through a scenery of crashing waves, islands, and wind-swept rocks - a unique driving experience between sky and sea. From here, the journey continues through hilly heathlands to the rugged coastal section of Hustadvika, known for its mountain peaks, views, and the untamed power of nature. After this intense travel day, a touch of luxury is just what we need: Our stylish country hotel in Skodje welcomes us with warm comfort and a view over the Storfjord (an 86 km long fjord in Norway).
Day 6: Geirangerfjord - UNESCO World Heritage
Early in the morning we embark on one of the most scenically spectacular days of our journey. Our route takes us on a panoramic road through the deeply snow-covered fjord landscape around the Geiranger-Herdalen National Park, a region recognized for its pristine nature, height variations, and crystal-clear waters. An absolute highlight awaits us with the majestic Geirangerfjord, one of Norway's most famous fjords and part of the UNESCO World Heritage site. Along our route, we are repeatedly treated to views of steep rock faces, frozen waterfalls, and deep blue fjord arms. After a day filled with spectacular landscapes and photographic opportunities, we arrive in the evening at the small harbor town of Kalvåg - the westernmost point of our winter tour. The place, with its traditional boathouses and fresh sea air, is the perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day.
Day 7: Fjordland
The new day begins with another leg of our adventure tour through the majestic nature of Western Norway. Our route continues south - past glittering lakes, tranquil forests, and snow-covered peaks. The landscape appears painted, raw yet gentle, with constantly changing backdrops that invite wonder. A special highlight awaits us in Lavik, where we cross the mighty Sognefjord - with over 200 km, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway. The drive over the calm waters, framed by towering rock walls, is a true nature experience. In the afternoon, we finally reach Bergen, the former Hanseatic city and today the cultural heart of the Norwegian fjord land. Founded in 1070, Bergen, with its colorful wooden houses by the harbor, cobbled streets, and the famous fish market, is one of the most beautiful cities in Norway. We will take it easy here and spend 2 nights - plenty of time to explore the city at leisure and indulge in its maritime flair.
Fragen stellen
Day 8: Rest Day in Bergen - This Day is All Yours!
For Norwegian standards, Bergen is an exceptionally lively and culturally diverse city where tradition and modernity meet in a charming way. Today we have the opportunity to discover this harbor city at our own pace. Whether it's a stroll through the historic Hanseatic district of Bryggen (UNESCO World Heritage site), a visit to the fish market, a ride on the Fløibanen funicular to the local mountain with breathtaking views. If you prefer to take it easy after the action-packed driving days, you can use the day to unwind - whether it's at a café visit, a walk along the quays, or a relaxed afternoon at the hotel.
Day 9: Winter in Hardangervidda National Park
Today we leave the coast and return to the wild heart of Norway. Our route takes us along the Hardangerfjord, past steep slopes, glittering waterfalls, and orchards that exude a touch of magic even in winter. We follow the Hardanger scenic route and soon dive into the vast, quiet world of Hardangervidda - Northern Europe's largest plateau and Norway's largest national park. Take a moment to pause and enjoy this view: deep, glacier-carved valleys, rugged mountain peaks, turquoise fjords in the distance, and a winter landscape that constantly shifts. A true panorama of extremes. Since winter here has its own set of rules, it may well happen that we find ourselves following a snowplow at a leisurely pace. In the late afternoon, we finally arrive in Geilo, a winter sports resort halfway between Oslo and Bergen. Our cozy hotel awaits us here.
Day 10: One Last Highlight, Then It’s Back Home
Our last driving day lies ahead. The varied tour takes us further through the plateau, following the main routes and driving over Rødberg into the Trillemarka-Rollagsfjell Nature Reserve, the last large remaining wilderness in Norway with its untouched forests. On deep snow-covered roads, this 4x4 journey in brilliant sunshine becomes a true winter dream - a fitting conclusion to our tour. Around noon, we reach Oslo and begin our individual return journeys.
