Oman Travel and Vacation – Good to know

Yes, a visa is required to enter Oman. It can be conveniently applied for online, either through the official website or various travel portals. The Visa on Arrival is also available, but for a smoother process it is advisable to apply in advance. Make sure that your passport is still valid for at least six months.
The Muscat International Airport (MCT) is the largest and best-equipped airport in Oman. It offers numerous international connections and modern facilities. Taxis and shuttles operate from here to the city. For an authentic experience, you might also consider a regional airport if you want to explore rural areas.
The local currency is the Omani Rial (OMR). Credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops, but it is advisable to carry cash for rural areas or smaller stores. ATMs are widely available, and there are numerous exchange offices to obtain cash for your trip.
