Yes, a visa is required to enter Oman. It can be conveniently applied for online, either through the official website or various travel portals. The Visa on Arrival is also available, but for a smoother process, prior application is recommended. Make sure that your passport is valid for at least six months.
The Muscat International Airport (MCT) is the largest and best-equipped airport in Oman. It offers numerous international connections and modern facilities. From here, taxis and shuttle buses go to the city. For an authentic experience, you may also consider a regional airport if you want to explore rural areas.
The local currency is the Omani Rial (OMR). Credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops, but it is advisable to have cash for more rural places or smaller shops. ATMs are widely available, and there are numerous exchange offices to get cash for your trip.

To purchase a SIM card in Oman, visit the local stores of major providers like Omantel or Ooredoo. These stores are located both at the airport and in the cities. Compare the data rates and choose an attractive plan according to your needs. Note that purchasing at airports is often more expensive.
