We recommend you take a night flight from Europe to Auckland so that you arrive at Auckland Airport in the morning and can enjoy the rest of the day. For an additional fee, a transfer to the Sudima Hotel Auckland City can be organized, where you can check in. The rooms are available from 3:00 PM. The afternoon is yours to explore the area or relax. In the evening, the tour guide will welcome you at the hotel.
In the morning, the journey begins southward, towards the Coromandel Peninsula, a true nature paradise with rugged mountain ranges and picturesque beaches. At Hot Water Beach in Hahei, you can enjoy the hot thermal springs that bubble up from the sand at low tide. The route continues along the coast, through the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park and the fertile hinterland of the Bay of Plenty. Finally, you reach Rotorua, known for its thermal springs and as a center of Maori culture. Distance: approx. 390 km. Meals: Breakfast.
Visit to the thermal park Whakarewarewa and the cultural center Te Puia. Here you will experience spouting geysers, steaming springs, and the traditions of the Maori, and have the opportunity to see a kiwi bird in the night enclosure. After a traditional Hangi lunch (prepared in an earth oven), you will enjoy a fascinating Maori folklore performance, including the famous 'Haka' dance. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch (Hangi).
Trip to Wairakei for a visit with the Maori of the Ngati Tuwharetoa tribe. After a traditional greeting, there is an opportunity for a conversation with a tribal chief. Next, proceed to the impressive Huka Falls before reaching Lake Taupo. Your journey takes you through the fertile Esk River Valley to Napier, a charming Art Deco style town that was rebuilt after the 1931 earthquake. Distance: approx. 240 km. Meals: Breakfast.
Leave the Hawkes Bay and travel through picturesque small towns like Greytown. In Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, enjoy a city tour with the main sights, including the parliamentary district, Victorian architecture, and Mount Victoria with a wonderful view of the bay. In the morning you will take the ferry across the Cook Strait to the South Island. Enjoy the view of the Marlborough Sounds and the surrounding vineyards known for their Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. The journey continues to Nelson, an artist city in sunny Tasman Bay. By bus and boat to the Abel Tasman National Park, a true natural paradise with golden sandy beaches, green rainforests, and turquoise water. Enjoy the breathtaking view from the boat and watch seals basking on the rocks. Distance: approx. 130 km. Meals: Breakfast.
Your journey takes you along the wild West Coast to Cape Foulwind, where you can observe a seal colony. Next, you will head to the famous Pancake Rocks in Punakaiki, where the surf generates splashing water fountains and the rocks look like stacked pancakes. Distance: approx. 280 km. Drive along the west coast past Greymouth and Hokitika, known for jade processing. Upon arriving in Franz Josef, enjoy a fantastic view of the glacier and, if the weather is good, take an optional helicopter flight to experience the alpine landscape from the air. Leave the West Coast and travel through the Haast Pass, which forms the watershed between the West and East Islands. The landscape changes abruptly and takes you through the picturesque Central Otago until you arrive in the gold mining town of Arrowtown and then in Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand. Take advantage of the day in Queenstown for a romantic steamship cruise on the 'TSS Earnslaw' or a ride on the gondola to Bob's Peak for spectacular panoramas. In Dunedin you can visit historic buildings from the Gold Rush era before heading to Moeraki to see the mysterious Moeraki Boulders.
