This stage of your 4x4 desert tour takes you over asphalt and back roads through central Tunisia, past mountain ranges and fertile valleys.
In Tozeur, you dive into the world of oases, visit local markets, and prepare the vehicle and materials for the desert.
First off-road sessions get you ready for the upcoming desert days.
Chott el Djerid – Gate to the Sahara
You cross the salt lake Chott el Djerid – depending on the conditions via the northern or southern route – before you reach Douz, the gateway to the Sahara.
Here you stock up on supplies, check your vehicle, and prepare for several days away from civilization.
