Uzbekistan Travel and Vacation – Good to know

Visa is required for entry into Uzbekistan. Travelers from many countries can apply for a visa online. Alternatively, a Visa on Arrival is available for certain nationalities. Make sure to have all necessary documents and fees ready to avoid delays.
The international airport in Tashkent is the largest and best-connected airport in Uzbekistan. It offers connections to many international destinations and is the best starting point for your trip around the country. Other airports can be found in Samarkand and Bukhara, which are also well-connected.
The local currency is the Uzbek Som (UZS). Credit cards are accepted in large cities, but for smaller shops and markets, you should carry enough cash. ATMs are available, but check if your card is compatible to avoid complications.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended to cover medical expenses. Therefore, you should check for required vaccinations before traveling, such as Hepatitis A and Tetanus. Some vaccinations are not mandatory, but advisable for a safe trip.
