City Tour Lima

To kick things off, we explore Lima, the cultural center of Peru with its UNESCO-listed historic center. Highlights of the city tour include the Plaza de Armas and the Presidential Palace. (Admissions on site.)

Ica and the Pan-American Highway

We roll south on the Pan-American Highway. In Ica, we visit the dreamlike desert oasis of Huacachina, framed by palm trees and giant sand dunes.

The Nasca Lines

About 140 kilometers further along the Pan-American Highway, we reach Nasca. From here, you can optionally take off in a small plane and view the mysterious Nasca Lines from the air. (Flight on site.)

Abancay and Pampa Galeras

Today we head up into the Andes. On the 460-kilometer stretch, we cross the Pampa Galeras Nature Reserve with its herds of vicuñas and reach altitudes of over 4,500 meters.

From Abancay to Cusco

About 200 kilometers take us to Cusco, the ancient Inca capital, whose name means "belly button of the world." The Andean city is full of history and charm.

Aguas Calientes

Today the motorcycles are resting. By bus to Ollantaytambo and then by train to Aguas Calientes, where we will stay very close to Machu Picchu.

  • For experienced motorcyclists who ride regularly. The trip is not suitable for beginners due to altitude and long stages.
  • The start and end point is Lima. The airport transfers are included in the travel price.
  • Machu Picchu, the Nasca Lines, the Inca capital Cusco, and the Ballestas Islands near Paracas.
  • Travelers from the EU and Switzerland need a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the date of departure. No visa is required for stays up to 90 days.
  • Check the standard vaccinations and refresh them if necessary. For Peru, a hepatitis A vaccination is additionally recommended. For personal advice, it’s best to consult your family doctor or a travel medicine specialist.
  • Yes. We will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall and are easily recognizable. Please do not leave the hall before we have met. We track your flight online and respond to changes in arrival time.
  • Check whether your health and accident insurance is also valid abroad, and supplement it as needed for trip cancellation, repatriation, and legal protection. Make sure it has worldwide coverage and note the emergency numbers.
  • We stay in carefully selected 2- and 3-star hotels with clean rooms, shower, toilet, and good breakfast. Single and double rooms are bookable; double rooms are only suitable for travelers who know each other.
  • Yes. You need both your national and international driver’s license. Be sure to check the validity of both documents before departure.
  • In larger towns and usually also along the route, you will have reception. Affordable travel rates are worthwhile; clarify this in advance with your provider. Most hotels offer free Wi-Fi.
  • The roads vary but usually surprise our participants positively. There are tolls on major roads, which motorcycles are often exempt from. We indicate the off-road portion in the travel program.
  • The risks depend on the stage. Daily briefings reduce the accident risk. Traffic in large cities is lively, and animals roam freely in rural areas. We recommend defensive driving, full protective gear, and zero blood alcohol content.
  • In larger cities like Lima, Ica, and Cusco, there are well-equipped clinics. In rural areas, care is limited. Comprehensive travel insurance with an emergency number is mandatory for this long-distance trip.
  • There isn’t a fixed best time, as Peru has several climate zones. In the Andes Highlands, April to October is ideal because it rains little then. We align our tour calendar with the climate and weather.
  • In altitude, headaches, fatigue, or shortness of breath may occur. Our stages are designed for gradual acclimatization. Drinking plenty, coca tea, and 'Sorojchi' tablets help. We carry an oximeter and blood pressure monitor.
  • For this tour, you can expect to spend around 90 to 100 euros on fuel. Refueling is by the gallon (3.8 liters), payable in cash or by card.
  • On this tour, you will ride the Yamaha Ténéré 700, a lightweight and off-road capable touring enduro with real rally character. It handles asphalt and gravel superbly and is ideal for this Andean tour.
  • Typically, there is only one seat (a maximum of two) available in the support vehicle. It is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Yes, this is easily possible and is a lot of fun for many participants. Everything is organized just as well as for the motorcycle group. We are happy to create offers for 2 to 6 people.
