Additional Information
Motorcycles
During this tour, we will be riding the Kibo K250
Difficulty Level of the Trip
During this journey through Kenya, we do not ride at high altitudes. The daily distances are not very long. There is plenty of time to stop along the way, take photos, and visit villages.
Off the Road
This trip is suitable for any healthy motorcyclist. We ride on paved main roads and regularly change routes, following narrow side roads. About one-third of the roads are unpaved. However, these are well-maintained gravel roads. The unpaved roads are not difficult, but off-road training is recommended. The motorcycles are light and agile enduros.
Accommodation
During this trip, we will stay in hotels, resorts, and simple guesthouses.
Climate
Rainy season in Kenya is from October to November and from March to May. The temperature is almost the same throughout the year, ranging between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, depending on altitude, of course. We have decided to do the motorcycle tour in September. Firstly, due to the dry weather and secondly, because this time coincides with the great wildlife migration in the Serengeti.
Clothing
A helmet, a motorcycle jacket with protection, gloves, sturdy (motorcycle) pants with protection or separate knee protection, and sturdy high (mountain) boots are mandatory. Additionally, it is advisable to bring good sunglasses, lip balm, sunscreen, and a helmet with a visor or good goggles that also protect against the dust on unpaved roads.
Visa
You can purchase your visa for Kenya upon arrival at the airport for 50 USD. However, we strongly recommend applying online beforehand! Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry into Kenya.
