OVERVIEW
Motorcycle travel Morocco: The Enduro tour through Atlas and Sahara
Our motorcycle trip through Morocco is not named by chance: "In the Footsteps of the Alchemist" is inspired by the novel of the same name by Paulo Coelho, which describes the journey of a seeker: full of trials, magic, and self-discovery. You will feel exactly that on this motorcycle tour as you ride your Enduro through the endless play of sand, stone, and light.
Between the passes of the High Atlas and the dunes of the Sahara, you will experience the essence of travel: freedom, adventure, and a single Enduro dream. Guided by experienced guides, this motorcycle trip through Morocco will take you over winding mountain roads, dusty tracks, and through oases where time stands still.

Daily program: In the Footsteps of the Alchemist: Your Motorcycle Journey Through the Heart of Morocco
Day 1: Arrival for the motorcycle trip in Marrakech
The journey begins with your arrival at Marrakech-Menara Airport. After the transfer to the camp, you'll meet your team and your guides. Your motorcycle is already waiting for you.
In a relaxed atmosphere, we will prepare the equipment together and discuss the upcoming stages of our motorcycle trip through Morocco during the briefing. The first day is all about arriving: shedding the dust of Europe, absorbing the scent of spices, and experiencing the sounds of the city: the adventure begins.
Day 2: Over the High Atlas to Taliouine
After breakfast, our motorcycle trip begins southward, into the majestic mountain ranges of the High Atlas. The winding mountain roads take us over heights of more than 2,000 meters, past cedar forests, small mountain villages, and breathtaking panoramas.
In Taliouine, the saffron capital of Morocco, we set up our first camp. As the evening sun sets over the mountains, you enjoy the first real Moroccan moment: a mix of wonder, silence, and anticipation for tomorrow's off-road adventure.
Day 3: Taliouine - Foum Zguid: The road into the desert
After a night under the stars, the off-road part of the motorcycle journey begins. We approach the oasis town of Foum Zguid, the gateway to the Sahara, via wide gravel tracks and dry riverbeds. The route dynamically adjusts to the group: every motorcycle trip through Morocco is different, each stage a new adventure. Palm groves, endless horizons, and the feeling of freedom shape this day. In the evening, we reach our camp on the edge of the desert and experience what silence truly means.
Day 4: Foum Zguid Circuit: In the Footsteps of 007
Today the motorcycle journey begins with pure off-road fun. We leave the camp and cross the barren expanse south of Foum Zguid: an area film fans know from "James Bond 007 Spectre".
In the middle of nowhere, a mighty mesa rises, our destination for this day. On the way there, the terrain alternates between sand, stone, and dry wadis: perfect conditions for experienced riders. In the afternoon, we return to the camp, where the sunset and the crackling of the campfire remind us of the magic of Africa.
Day 5: Foum Zguid - Erg Chegaga: The Call of the Sahara
Early in the morning, we head southeast. The day takes us through the Iriki National Park with its dried-up salt lake Lac Iriki. The terrain changes constantly: hard tracks, flat plains, soft sand.
In the afternoon, the first dune fields of Erg Chegaga appear, one of the largest and most beautiful sand landscapes in Morocco. Here begins the most magical part of our motorcycle journey: we set up camp on the edge of the Sahara, the sun sinks behind the dunes, and the starry sky above us seems within reach.
Day 6: Erg Chegaga - Mhamid - Zagora: From sand to the oasis
After breakfast, the challenge of the day awaits: a dune field about ten kilometers long that physically tests us and demands everything in terms of riding technique. In Mhamid, the small oasis town at the edge of the Sahara, we take a break before the motorcycle tour takes us on asphalt to Zagora. The town is located in the fertile Dra Valley, surrounded by palm groves, kasbahs, and ancient trade routes. Here you can feel why Morocco is so unique for motorcycle journeys: desert, mountains, culture. All in one day.
Day 7 & 8: Zagora - Erg Chebbi: Two days to the sea of sand
From Zagora, the route initially leads over short asphalt sections before transitioning into the vast outback, the heart of our motorcycle journey through Morocco.
For two days, we traverse diverse terrain: deep sand, rocky passages, and endless plains stretching to the horizon. Along the way, we set up our camp in the wilderness, far away from roads and light.
The following day, the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon: a moment you won’t forget. Here, the largest dune field in Morocco rises up to 300 meters high, a landmark of every motorcycle journey through the Sahara.
Day 9: Erg Chebbi - Circuit and Rest Day
After intense off-road days, today is free for your own design. Those who still have energy can ride the circuit around Jbel Bega: a challenging motorcycle tour along the Algerian border.
Alternatively, tranquility and relaxation beckon: a dune hike, tea with the Berbers, or a bath in the desert camp. No matter where you spend the day, the view of the Erg Chebbi dunes makes every moment an experience between freedom and silence.
Day 10: Erg Chebbi - Alnif - Tinghir: From the sea of sand to the mountains
Today we say goodbye to the dune sea of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, the route of our guided motorcycle trip initially leads us over asphalt roads to Alnif, before we switch to a varied off-road connection towards Tinghir. The landscape changes noticeably: from desert plains to rock formations, from sand to stone. In the late afternoon, we reach Tinghir: a small town with palm oases and a view of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. This stage showcases the diversity that makes motorcycle trips in Morocco so unique.
Day 11: Tinghir - Boumalne Dadès: Through gorges and over high passes
Today you can expect one of the most spectacular stages of this motorcycle trip in Morocco. After starting in Tinghir, the road winds through the narrow Todra Gorge, whose red rock walls soar hundreds of meters into the sky. After that, the route (depending on weather and group dynamics) either takes us over the 2,990 m high Aghoudal Pass or along a challenging gravel track into the Dadès Gorge. The combination of asphalt, gravel, and panorama makes this day a real highlight of any motorcycle tour through the Atlas.
Day 12: Boumalne Dadès - N’Kob: Loop through the Jbel Saghro
Since the direct connection between Boumalne and N'Kob has now been paved, we have planned a circular route for today that takes us deep into the area of Jbel Saghro. Here, bizarre rock formations alternate with wide plains and gravel tracks. Pure off-road fascination.
We drive through small Berber villages and enjoy the expanse of the southern Atlas. In the afternoon, we reach N'Kob again, where a nomad camp awaits us. When the evening wind blows through the palms and the campfire crackles, you feel why motorcycle travel in Morocco is more than just a vacation.
Day 13: N’Kob - Ouarzazate: In the footsteps of great films
From N'Kob, a new off-road route leads us north to Ouarzazate, also known as "Hollywood of the Desert." The landscape resembles sets from an adventure movie. This is no coincidence, as classics like Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven were filmed here. Our motorcycle journey today combines culture and riding pleasure: gravel, asphalt, and endless valleys alternate. In the afternoon, we reach the city, explore the film studios if interested, or relax at the camp. The atmosphere of Ouarzazate is the perfect blend of Oriental flair and modern desert charm.
Day 14: Quarzazate - Aït-Ben-Haddou - Marrakech: Back over the Atlas
The penultimate day of this motorcycle trip through Morocco presents yet another real highlight. We visit the fortified town of Aït-Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that plunges us deep into the history of Morocco with its adobe buildings and narrow alleys. Afterwards, we take an impressive pass back over the High Atlas to Marrakech. The last few kilometers are a pleasure: a blend of pride, nostalgia, and satisfaction. Back at the camp, we toast together to two weeks of adventure, full of dust, sun, and unforgettable memories.
Day 15: Marrakech: Farewell to the motorcycle trip through Morocco
After the last breakfast, it's time to say goodbye. The motorcycles are loaded, the equipment packed. With the last look over the rooftops of Marrakech, it becomes clear: Our motorcycle trip through Morocco ends here, but the unforgettable memories remain.
You have experienced deserts, mountains, oases, and people who show you what traveling truly means. Until the next adventure on two wheels. Thank you and goodbye, Morocco!
