Best Airport
The Heraklion Airport (HER) is the largest and best-connected airport on Crete. Here, you will find numerous flights to many destinations in Europe. Another airport in Chania (CHQ) also offers good connections. Both airports provide car rentals and transfers to the cities and beaches.
Local Currency and Payment Methods
The local currency in Crete is the Euro (€). Credit cards are accepted in many shops and restaurants, but it is advisable to have some cash on hand for smaller purchases. ATMs are widely available in cities and tourist areas, with mostly fee-based withdrawals applicable.
Vaccinations and Travel Insurance
