In the morning, we leave behind the spectacular Victoria Falls, also known as 'Mosi-oa Tunya' (the smoke that thunders), as we continue our Africa adventure journey south to Hwange National Park. Hwange is the largest of Zimbabwe's national parks and, with an area of 14,650 square kilometers, one of the largest national parks in all of Africa. Guests who have purchased the activity package will be picked up in the morning from the accommodation and spend the day on a wildlife viewing drive (in open 4x4 vehicles) through Hwange in search of lions, zebras, elephants, birds, and many other animals. Especially during the dry season, many animals can be seen at the waterholes. Included highlight: Full-day game drive in Hwange National Park
Day 3: Matopos National Park
After breakfast, we continue our tour southward to Bulawayo, the second-largest city in Zimbabwe. In the afternoon, we explore Matopos National Park with a local guide. The park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003 and encompasses an intensive conservation area of 424 square kilometers, home to both the Black and White Rhinoceros (which can enable a unique safari experience). Named after the Ndebele word 'Matobo,' meaning 'bald heads.' This refers to the granite hills that are visible throughout the park, making it a unique backdrop. Day 4: Great Zimbabwe Ruins
Our group travels to Masvingo and the ruins of Great Zimbabwe. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a guided tour of this historic site.
