From the historic streets of Lima to the majestic ruins of Machu Picchu, you will experience a variety of cultures, traditions, and moments of enjoyment. Each stage of the itinerary is designed not only to bring you closer to the beauty of the country but also to offer deeper insights into the local culture and history. You will be able to enjoy local festivals, culinary delights, and breathtaking views that will make your experiences unforgettable.
Daily program: Vacation in the Kingdom of the Sun
Day 01: Lima/ approx. 22 km
Transfer from Lima Airport to Hotel. The Peruvian capital Lima was founded in 1535 by the Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro. Here you encounter both the crumbling colonial grandeur and the vibrant liveliness of an oriental bazaar. There are melancholic foggy winters and pleasantly warm summers, and alongside extensive slums there are venerable buildings in quiet, elegant corners where the evening scent smells of jasmine. After arriving in Lima, the transfer from the airport to the hotel takes place. Mid-range: Overnight stay at Hilton Garden Inn Lima Miraflores 4* or similar (Standard room). Comfort class: Overnight stay at Casa Andina Premium Miraflores 4* or similar (Superior room).
Day 02: Lima/ approx. 35 km
Included meals: Breakfast. Half-day city tour including San Francisco Monastery and Larco Museum (5h). During a city tour through Lima, you first visit the historic downtown with Plaza de Armas, where the Government Palace, the Town Hall, the Archbishop's Palace, and the Cathedral are located, to mention only the most impressive buildings at this historic square. Next, you visit the San Francisco Monastery, which houses the largest collection of religious artworks in America. The highlight of this visit is the catacombs. Afterwards, you visit Plaza San Martín, which has been lovingly renovated after earthquakes. Then the tour continues through the modern residential areas of San Isidro and Miraflores to the Pacific coast, where you can enjoy the breathtaking view over the sea. Afterwards, you visit the Larco Museum, which presents the world's largest private collection of pre-Columbian art from northern Peru. The collection includes more than 45,000 objects, including exquisite pre-Columbian ceramics, gold and silver pieces, a beautiful and impressive collection of textiles from the Chancay culture, as well as a fascinating collection of erotic pottery from the Moche period.
Day 03: Lima – Cusco – Yucay/ approx. 66 km
Included meals: Breakfast. Transfer hotel – Lima Airport. Flight Lima – Cusco (not included). Transfer Cusco Airport – hotel in the Urubamba Valley with a visit to the Chinchero community and the Chinchero market on the way. You will be taken to the airport in Lima and continue your journey with a flight to Cusco. Your excursion today begins with a visit to the Chinchero community, located about 28 km from Cusco. Here you will find the remains of the Inca Tupac Yupanqui's palace as well as magnificent colonial temples built on the foundations of Inca structures. However, the most impressive is the Chinchero market, which takes place every Sunday, where local producers from the Sacred Valley offer their goods. This lively and colorful market delights its visitors with a variety of handicrafts and textiles in original pre-Columbian style.
Day 04: Yucay/ approx. 46 km
Included meals: Breakfast, lunch. Half-day excursion to the Ollantaytambo ruins (4h). Today a visit to Ollantaytambo is on the agenda, one of the most significant ruins from the Inca period. The massive fortress was one of the few places where the Spanish suffered a decisive defeat during the conquest of Peru. Below the ruins lies Ollantaytambo, which was built on the foundations of Inca structures. Ollantaytambo is considered one of the best examples of Inca town planning, with the site having more religious significance than defensive function.
Day 05: Yucay – Machu Picchu – Cusco/ approx. 150 km
Included meals: Breakfast. Full-day excursion to Machu Picchu (8h). In the morning, you will drive to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where you will board a beautiful Vistadome train that takes you through the fertile valley of the Urubamba River to Aguas Calientes. The landscape changes constantly and offers impressive views. After arriving in Aguas Calientes, the train station at the foot of Machu Picchu, the final leg takes you up the winding road to the ruins by shuttle buses. Machu Picchu was only discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, who was actually searching for the ruins of Vilcabamba, the lost stronghold of the last Inca.

Day 06: Cusco/ approx. 25 km
Included meals: Breakfast. Half-day city tour including ruins (3h). Afternoon at leisure. In the morning, the half-day city tour through the historic city of Cusco begins. Cusco - While today's tourist paths lead, the streets during the time when Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire and the 'navel of the world' were all focused on this place. Located at an altitude of 3,500 m in the fertile Vilcanota Valley, Cusco remains the indigenous center of the Andes.
Day 07: Cusco
Included meals: Breakfast. Day at leisure. The day is at your leisure. The following excursions can be booked optionally on-site: Optional: Full-day excursion to the Rainbow Mountain (12h) - on a group basis. Today's tour starts early around 5:30 AM. A transfer picks you up from your hotel. You will then travel about 77 km (1h 30min) to the district of Cusipata.
Day 08: Cusco – Puno/ approx. 390 km
Included meals: Breakfast, lunch. Bus ride from Cusco to Puno – on a group basis. Today, a full-day bus ride from Cusco to Puno is on the agenda. During the journey through the Peruvian highlands, you can enjoy views of snow-capped mountain peaks as you ascend to over 4,300 m in height and descend back to Puno, which is located directly on Lake Titicaca.
Day 09: Puno – Lima/ approx. 60 km
Included meals: Breakfast, lunch. Full-day excursion to Uros & Taquile including lunch (8h). Transfer to Juliaca Airport. Flight Juliaca – Lima (not included). Transfer from Lima Airport to hotel. The trip goes by boat to the Uros Islands. The Uros are the original inhabitants of Lake Titicaca and live on about 40 floating islands made of reeds.
Day 10: Lima/ approx. 22 km
Included meals: Breakfast. Transfer from the hotel to Lima Airport. If departure time allows, the following optional excursion can be booked on-site in the morning: Optional: Visit to the Barranco district (3h). Today you will visit Barranco, the bohemian heart of Lima.
