Tunisia Travel and Vacation – Good to know

German citizens do not need a visa for short stays of up to 90 days for Tunisia. This stay is for tourist purposes. For longer stays, an application is required. The visa can be applied for online or at the Tunisian embassy. Plan your trip in advance to organize all documents in time and start your adventure relaxed.

The best airport in Tunisia is the Tunis-Carthage Airport (TUN). It is located near the capital and offers numerous international connections. From here, you can easily start your motorcycle trip. Alternatively, there is also the Monastir Airport (MIR) for beach holidays. Plan your airport according to your travel route in Tunisia to save time.

The local currency in Tunisia is the Dinar (TND). Cash is often the preferred payment method in rural areas, as not all businesses accept credit cards. It is advisable to have some cash for small expenses. ATMs are widely available in larger cities. Don't hesitate to exchange some cash upon your arrival at the airport to be ready right away.

Vaccinations are not legally required, but recommendations for hepatitis A and typhoid are issued. A travel insurance is highly recommended to be protected in case of emergencies.
