Days 1–14

Arrival

After we have picked you up from the airport and brought you to the hotel, you can rest a bit.

After that, you will take a little stroll through the city and gather your first impressions.

At the group dinner, everyone will sit together for the first time, and you will spend a lovely evening.

Ulaanbaatar Tour

The hearty breakfast prepares you for the day.

We are going to the city and visiting Sukhbaatar Square.

Here you have the opportunity to admire exhibits in the Genghis Khan Museum, such as the Golden Monument of Genghis Khan and archaeological finds from the Hunnu/Xiongnu Empire and other dynasties.

In the afternoon, the briefing of the tour and the vehicles takes place.

Baga Gazriin Chuluu

The first day "on tour".

We will drive approximately 240 km today, initially a little asphalt to get used to the motorcycles and to enjoy the first impressions of the surrounding landscape in peace.

After leaving the paved road, we will head onto gravel and a little sand towards our day's destination.

There, we will find the rock formations of Baga Gazriin Chuluu and the first Gercamp.

White Stupa

About 220km lie ahead of us, leading us through varied landscapes.

We can walk through old monastery ruins, then drive through a small gorge, followed by endless steppe, taking a break at a small soum to rest and drink something.

After that, we briefly go over paved roads to enjoy beautiful trails again until we reach our daily destination Tsagaan Suvraga.

Dungenee Gorge

On the way to the next Gercamp, the vastness of the Gobi becomes apparent, until suddenly a huge mountain range appears on the horizon.

We drive through this, which is sporty in places but doable. After some time, we reach the Dungenee Gorge, a dramatic rock canyon, where we take an extensive break to let this soak in.

Then we continue to the Gercamp.

Khongor Sand Dunes

The approximately 220 km long drive takes us through a small canyon, the rocky gorge of the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains.

We cross parts of the Gobi, vast steppes, refuel in Bayandalai Soum, take a short break there, and end the day’s journey at the famous and impressive singing dunes of Khongorin-Els.

Try to climb these sand mountains over 200 meters high ... good fitness and a hydration backpack are recommended ;-)

Bayanzag

Once again, there’s off-road of the finest kind, totaling about 150 km.

Steppe, gorges, and trails delight the heart of an enduro rider.

In Bulgan Soum we take a break, then we reach the fascinating Flaming Cliffs. These are known for a wonderful evening display of colors during sunset, which makes the rock formations glow in fiery red.

Questions about the tour itinerary?

Our tour guide is happy to answer any questions about the day-by-day route, stops, and details.

Arvaikheer

On this day, we first travel through seemingly endless steppe until the landscape changes and becomes hillier.

In this mountainous area, the ruins of the Ongiin Khiid monastery are hidden, which we will visit.

We continue through the mountains for a while until the terrain becomes flat and wide again.

We will spend the night in Arvaikheer, the capital of the Övörkhangai province, where there is comfortable relaxation for body and mind after the dusty days. We deserve that ;-)

Orkhon Waterfall

Today, Mongolia shows its incredibly varied landscapes; in some places, one might think it could also be Iceland.

The onward journey goes through the Orkhon Valley (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and is heavily shaped by volcanism.

Today's destination is the Orkhon Waterfall, which also does not fulfill the typical "Mongolia" cliché.

Ugii Lake

Slowly the route leads us back towards Ulaan Baator and directly to Lake Ugii, a freshwater lake with a rich bird population.

One can also beautifully let the soul dangle here and refresh oneself with a swim in the lake.

Khustai National Park

The last days are approaching, driving will be more relaxed and totally easy due to the training of the past days.

We visit the Khustai National Park, home of the wild horses (Przewalski horses/Takhi). Here we observe different species of animals that live completely freely in the evenings and early mornings.

Back to Ulaanbaatar

The last day of the trip takes us mainly over bumpy, also paved roads. We drive along the foot of the Khustai Mountains, following the Tuul River towards Ulaanbaatar. Past beautiful rock formations, mountains, and vast landscapes until we reach the capital again and here the tour ends.

Farewell Party

On the last day, there is another opportunity to take a stroll through the city, buy a souvenir, or purchase a fine piece for your loved one at home in a typical Mongolian cashmere shop.

In the afternoon, we will visit a traditional theater that brings us closer to the old Mongolian culture, and afterwards, we'll conclude the last evening with a cozy farewell party.

Departure

The last day, departure. We leave very early, we take you to the airport and the adventure in Mongolia really comes to an end.

  • Visitors to Mongolia generally require a visa prior to their arrival, depending on their nationality. The visa regulations of Mongolia may vary by country. Therefore, it is advisable to check the specific requirements of your citizenship. For citizens of certain countries, Mongolia is visa-free for a limited period. However, for most visitors, a visa is required. Available types of visas also include tourist visas.
  • For the application of a Mongolian visa, you generally need a valid passport, a completed visa application form, and additional documents such as an invitation letter, a travel itinerary, and proof of sufficient financial means for your stay. If needed, we are happy to provide this letter to you. The duration and costs of the visa may vary. We therefore recommend that you contact the nearest Mongolian embassy or consulate for up-to-date information. Anyone who needs a Mongolian visa must apply for it before traveling. We want to emphasize that we take no responsibility for individuals who travel without a visa and expect to obtain one upon their arrival in Ulaanbaatar. For a smooth entry into Mongolia, it is important to apply for your visa well in advance.

  • Above all, Enduro riders and of course female riders who want to ride off-road without limits and at the same time get to know a wonderful country. Those who do not want to participate in a rally, but rather in a tour where there is also time for one or another photo to let the impressive landscape have an effect on them and capture it in an image. And those who would like to get to know new cultures, their history, and the people there. And last but not least, the experience in the group with like-minded individuals, exchanging ideas, getting to know new people here, and possibly forming friendships.
  • Driving time varies depending on road conditions and sights along our route. Some days include less than 150 kilometers of driving, some about 250 km. We try to bring difficulty level and distance into a manageable ratio. The schedule allows time for breakfast, photo stops, shorter breaks, and timely arrival at the destination, in order to potentially enjoy the scenery with a short walk here. We usually reach our destination around 4:30 or 5:00 PM. However, the weather and thus changed conditions or other circumstances can lead to longer driving times.
  • One should definitely have basic knowledge in enduro riding. However, we have also had a "street rider" who had never been off-road and managed well. Learning by doing is the motto. The requirements along the way are predominantly at a low to medium level, as we ride almost continuously from morning to afternoon with breaks, corresponding fitness should be present as well. After two or three days, you then have a routine that everyone has managed so far.
  • Yes, we are on the road for 11 days on the motorcycle. For some tours, we have scheduled a rest day, during which special activities will be carried out as a surprise. Please ask about this again when booking if it is important to you and not mentioned in the description.
  • This is not necessary, as our tour guide leads the entire crew from one point to another and the support vehicle acts as the sweep vehicle.
  • The tours are limited to 10 motorcycles plus a tour guide. We believe that our customers prefer a more individualized, personal tour with fewer motorcycles. For private group trips, we offer more participants.
