You have a choice: you can start with us from Germany and experience the transcontinental expedition, or join our 14-day Genghis Khan tour directly in Osch.

Travel itinerary of the Genghis Khan motorcycle trip

This travel plan offers you a comprehensive motorcycle journey through Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia, perfect for your next vacation adventure with OVERCROSS. We recommend taking a night flight from Europe and landing in Osh Airport in the morning to make the most of the day. We will drop off our luggage at the hotel and visit the local market and eat a local dish. After checking in at the hotel, we rest a bit. In the late afternoon, we pick up the motorcycles and take a short test ride. Then it's ready to head back to the hotel.

Daily program: Genghis Khan Motorcycle Adventure

Arrival Day 1: Arrival in Osh and Preparation

We recommend taking a night flight from Europe and landing in the morning at Osh airport to make the most of the day. We deposit the luggage at the hotel and visit the local market and eat a local dish. After checking into the hotel, we rest a bit. In the late afternoon, we pick up the motorcycles and take a short test ride. Then we go back to the hotel ready to start.

Day 2: Osh to Jalalabad

Jalalabad is known for its healing mineral springs and was a significant stop on the ancient Silk Road. The ride (~100 km) takes you through the picturesque Alay Valley, with views of the Babash-Ata Mountain. Experience a fascinating motorcycle journey through the region.

Day 3: Jalalabad to Toktogul

Toktogul, named after the famous Kyrgyz poet Toktogul Satylganov, features the impressive Toktogul reservoir. The journey (~150 km) includes challenging ascents with views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. Your round trip becomes more exciting here.

Day 4: Toktogul to Bishkek

Bishkek, originally a caravan stop, has developed into the vibrant capital of Kyrgyzstan. Travel ~300 km with vehicle support, passing through the Suusamyr Valley and crossing the Too-Ashuu Pass, known for its breathtaking panoramas. Perfect for your next travel adventure.

Day 5: Bishkek to Almaty, Kazakhstan

Almaty, the former capital of Kazakhstan, is known for its scenic beauty and cultural attractions like the Central State Museum. The journey (~250 km) includes both motorcycle riding and vehicle support, from the Kyrgyz mountains to the Kazakh steppe. Perfect for motorcycle travel.

Day 6: Almaty Rest Day

Almaty, located at the foot of the Tien Shan mountains, offers attractions such as the Zenkov Cathedral and the Medeu ice rink. Spend the day exploring these historical and cultural sites. Enjoy a relaxing day during your motorcycle journey.

Day 7: Almaty to Taldykorgan

Taldykorgan, located on the banks of the Karatal River, held historical significance as a regional trade center. The ride (~260 km) features a mix of urban and rural landscapes, passing by apple orchards and gentle hills. A highlight for your round trip.

Day 8: Taldykorgan to Ayagoz

Ayagoz, with its strategic historical location, offers ancient petroglyphs and burial mounds. The journey (~300 km) leads through the Kazakh steppe, where you can explore these archaeological sites. Ideal for a true travel adventure.

Day 9: Ayagoz to Semey

Semey, known for its literary heritage and the former nuclear test site of Semipalatinsk, was the exile of Fyodor Dostoevsky. Travel ~350 km through flat terrain and visit the Dostoevsky Museum and the Abai Museum. An unforgettable part of your motorcycle journey.

Day 10: Semey to Ust-Kamenogorsk

Ust-Kamenogorsk, founded as a Russian fortress in 1720, is now an industrial and cultural center. The journey (~250 km) includes a ride through the Altai mountains, with stunning views and a visit to the Ethnographic Museum. An exciting stage of your round trip.

Day 11: Ust-Kamenogorsk to Bulgan, Mongolia

Bulgan, historically associated with the Mongolian Empire, is near the birthplace of Genghis Khan. Cross the border into Mongolia and travel ~300 km through mixed terrain, complete border formalities, and explore the nearby Khustain National Park. Perfect for a vacation adventure.

Day 12: Bulgan to Erdenet

Erdenet, a major mining center, hosts one of the largest copper mines in the world. Ride ~250 km through hilly terrain, with a stop at the Amarbayasgalant Monastery, one of the largest and most beautiful Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia. A cultural highlight of your trip.

Day 13: Erdenet to Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, grew from a nomadic Buddhist monastery center to a bustling city. Make your way back ~350 km through mixed terrain, visiting the Genghis Khan statue complex along the way before reaching the capital. Your motorcycle journey ends majestically here.

Day 14: Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, founded in 1639, combines ancient traditions with modern developments. Explore the Gandantegchinlen Monastery, Sukhbaatar Square, and the National Museum of Mongolia and reflect on your adventurous journey. A perfect conclusion to your round trip with tour operator OVERCROSS.
