Introduction to the Enduro Motorcycle Tour in Georgia
For the Georgians, the Argonauts, whose search for the Golden Fleece led them to sail to ancient Colchis, are considered the first tourists of Georgia. Our enduro tour starts on the Black Sea coast, takes us over the Adjara mountains to the region of Svaneti located in the Caucasus. The village of Ushguli, located about 2200 meters above sea level, is known as the highest permanently inhabited settlement in Europe. A Georgian proverb says: “Whoever has not been to Svaneti has not seen Georgia!” The uniqueness and authenticity of this region attract tourists from all over the world. We "enduro tourists" will cross alpine meadows and picturesque passes on this special motorcycle journey. We will also visit the Gonio Apsaros fortress, the Gelati Academy, and other attractions. This motorcycle tour will be crowned by the delicious Georgian cuisine and the famous Georgian wines.
Daily program: On the trails of the Argonauts motorcycle journey!
Day 1: Arrival in Georgia
Arrival at Batumi Airport. You will be picked up at the airport and taken to a hotel in the center of the beautiful port city of Batumi. Once the whole group is there, a briefing will take place where participants of this motorcycle trip can get to know each other and receive the necessary information regarding the enduro tour. We will end the evening together with a typical Georgian dinner.
Day 2: The Enduro Tour through Western Georgia begins
On the first riding day, Georgia welcomes us with all its beauty. During a 100 km ride through the subtropical forests of the Adjara region with ups and downs and smaller river crossings, we can immediately prove our enduro riding skills. We cross the entire Adjara region and ascend the 2000m high Goderdzi Pass on our motorcycles, from which we can enjoy the stunning beauty of the Georgian landscape. In the afternoon, we reach Akhaltsikhe. Here we visit the medieval fortress of Rabat.
Day 3: Enduro riding and experiencing culture
Today we follow in the footsteps of the Argonauts to the former capital of ancient Colchis: Kutaisi. First, today we visit the cultural monument from the 12th-13th century, the cave city of Wardzia, and our ride continues towards Kutaisi. After our arrival, we visit the monastery complex “Gelati”, where one of the most significant kings of Georgia, “David the Builder,” is buried. The monastery is considered one of the most important works of Georgian art and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Day 4: Off-road to Svaneti
After a pleasant and cultural enduro day, we ride today on one of the most beautiful off-road tracks in Georgia to Svaneti. We travel through the once inaccessible mountain region of the Greater Caucasus and marvel at the tall and mighty mountains of Georgia. We arrive at our day's destination, the historical region of Svaneti, Mestia, around 6:00 PM.
Day 5: Enduro fun to the highest village in Europe
Our goal today on the enduro tour through Georgia is the highest village in Europe - Ushguli at about 2200 meters above sea level. Here stand the famous watchtowers of Ushguli as part of the UNESCO World Heritage. From here we have an impressive view of the highest mountain in Georgia, Shkhara, at 5200 meters. In the evening we ride back towards Mestia.
Dieser Tag wirft oft Fragen auf, da wir in eine der höchsten Regionen Europas fahren. Besondere Aspekte sind die schwierigen Sandbedingungen, die Navigation und die beeindruckende Aussicht – gerne nachfragen.
Day 6: The longest and last stage of the enduro tour through Georgia
On the penultimate riding day, we reach the Black Sea coast. Our last travel day is also the longest stage of the Western Georgia motorcycle tour, taking us back to Batumi, the endpoint of our round trip. After returning the enduro motorcycles, we will say goodbye to each other with a farewell dinner and let the last evening end pleasantly.
Day 7: Goodbye Georgia
Today marks the end of the seven-day enduro motorcycle tour through Western Georgia. After breakfast, we will take you to the airport in Batumi.
