  • It is best to book the safari at least 3 to 6 months before the planned travel date, especially during the peak season from June to October.

  • A yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into Tanzania, especially if you are coming from a yellow fever infection area. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended as malaria is prevalent in many regions. Wear protective clothing in the evening and use insect repellent.

  • It depends on your nationality; German citizens need a visa to enter Tanzania. This can be obtained upon arrival at the airport or applied for online in advance.

  • There is not much space for luggage on safari tours. Typically, one medium-sized piece of luggage per person is allowed, along with carry-on luggage. It is recommended to use soft bags as they are easier to store.

  • Lightweight, breathable clothing in neutral colors is ideal for safaris.

  • The Tanzanian shilling is used in Tanzania. However, US dollars are often accepted in tourist areas. It is advisable to carry both local currency for smaller expenses and US dollars for larger transactions.
