Daily program: From Namibia through the Delta and the Chobe to the Victoria Falls
Arrival Day 1: Etosha National Park
In the morning, your tour through Africa begins. You will be picked up by a shuttle service that takes you to your first overnight stop, the Etosha National Park. The journey is expected to take 4 to 5 hours. You can sit back and enjoy the ride to Etosha National Park. Upon your arrival at the Okaukuejo Rest Camp, you will be picked up by your tour guide, who will introduce you to the tour, your truck, and your fellow travelers. In the afternoon, we will board our truck and enjoy a game drive.
Day 2: Etosha to Divundu
We leave Etosha and its beautiful sandy beaches behind and make our way to the Kavango River, where we will be staying overnight in Divundu today.
Day 3: From Divundu to Maun
We enjoy a leisurely boat trip on the beautiful Kavango River. Experience the beauty and diversity of the landscape, the wildlife, and the cultural diversity of the region. The Kavango River is a significant river in Southern Africa, which holds great importance for the region and is a fascinating destination to discover the wonders of the African wilderness. We will then cross the border into Botswana and make our way to the Okavango Delta, the town of Maun, where we will be staying overnight today.
Day 4: Khwai Conservation Area
This morning, we leave Maun and will be separated from our truck for the next two nights. Please pack your personal belongings that you might need before we leave Maun. Be sure to take only the essentials. Today we head to the Okavango Delta and continue our journey through Africa. Those who rise early have the opportunity to optionally take a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (depending on weather and time). After that, you will be picked up by smaller safari vehicles in Maun and taken to the Khwai Conservation Area. In the afternoon, we will take a mokoro excursion into the Okavango Delta. Our guide will inform us about everything we can expect beforehand.
Day 5: Moremi Game Reserve
We spend our day today on a game drive, on safari in the Moremi Game Reserve. Be prepared for bumpy roads as we traverse this wilderness area in our 4x4 vehicles. The Moremi Game Reserve has habitats ranging from wetlands to open water to grassland and savanna woodlands. We hope to see as many species of animals and plants as possible. Known animal species found there include elephants, leopards, buffalo, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and over 500 bird species. More than 1000 plant species have been recorded: trees, shrubs, grasses, water plants, and many other species count among them. These plants form the basis for the rich wildlife of the reserve, providing food, shelter, and habitat for the animals.
Day 6: Khwai to Nata
Today we leave Khwai, and our journey through Africa continues to Nata. Pack up your camp, and at dawn you’ll depart with the open 4x4 safari vehicles, before meeting our truck in Maun that will take you to Nata. On the way to Nata, some of the incredible landscapes of Botswana will reveal themselves. With a bit of luck, you may experience one or two wildlife encounters before arriving in Nata, your overnight destination. In the afternoon, we have a guided tour to the Nata Pans, which serve as a breeding ground for many water birds, including many flamingos and pelicans. Additionally, many water birds, zebras, and wildebeests, as well as predatory and raptor birds, and small mammals like porcupines reside in the Nata Pans.
Day 7: Nata to Kasane - Chobe National Park
Today we leave Nata and arrive in Kasane in time for lunch and a short siesta. In the afternoon, we will explore Chobe National Park from the river. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride where we hope to closely encounter many elephants that gather by the river in the afternoons. In the evening, we return with many memories of our wildlife encounters.
Day 8: Zimbabwe - Victoria Falls
This morning we cross the border into Zimbabwe and cover the short distance to the Victoria Falls. You have the opportunity to independently visit the beautiful Victoria Falls. The Victoria Falls are one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Africa and are among the largest waterfalls in the world. They have a width of about 1.7 kilometers and plunge more than 100 meters into the depths. The rising mist and spray are visible from a great distance and have given the falls the nickname 'Smoke that Thunders,' also known as 'Mosi-oa Tunya.' The majority of today's day will be spent observing the mighty Zambezi River, which flows into the Batoka Gorge below. The amazing adventure town of Victoria Falls also offers a range of optional activities for those looking for an adrenaline rush in the afternoon, and for those wanting to relax, there are crafts markets and cafes available.
Day 9: Victoria Falls
Your African tour ends today after breakfast with many wonderful memories in your mind. You have the opportunity to participate in many cool activities that are offered in Victoria Falls. Visiting the Victoria Falls again for an unforgettable experience, a helicopter flight over the falls is also available, or for adrenaline junkies, bungee jumping from the Victoria Falls Bridge is a popular activity. You can also enjoy a relaxed boat ride on the Zambezi River or go on a wildlife safari; the area is rich in wildlife, and there are various wildlife safaris and game drives that take visitors in search of elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, and other animals.
