This motorcycle trip Taurus Mountains takes you right into the wild highlands of Turkey. On lonely gravel paths, winding serpentines, and long off-road stages, you explore deeply cut valleys, bizarre rock formations, and crystal-clear canyons.
The Journey
The motorcycle trip Taurus Mountains takes you through the wild highlands of Turkey. You drive through deep valleys with bizarre rock formations and ravines, crossing one or another river. The ascent to a high plateau far above the tree line feels like another world. Lonely, winding roads and less demanding nature paths lead through this still undiscovered enduro paradise – a joy for all motorcyclists. Upon arrival in Antalya, your guide will be waiting for you in front of the airport. After a short transfer to the hotel, you will receive all the information about the tour and the route. We load the luggage onto the motorcycles and off we go: We ride through small paths and roads to the village of Gebis near Antalya. After a break in a typical Turkish tea house, we take a winding on and off-road serpentine road to Pinargözü at the foot of the 2,500 m high Kuyuca-dagi. In the afternoon, we follow the traces of the apostle St. Paul in the Yazili Canyon National Park, swim in crystal clear natural pools, and enjoy freshly caught trout. Afterwards, the off-road route takes us over lonely mountain paths to Sütcüler.
After about three hours of flight, you land in Antalya, where your German-Turkish guide meets you directly at the airport. The transfer to the hotel takes only about 20 minutes. Over a cozy dinner, you get to know the group, and we discuss the program of your motorcycle trip in the Taurus Mountains together. This way, you start the upcoming Enduro week relaxed and well-prepared.
By minibus, you go from the hotel to the motorcycles. After a few formalities and loading the machines, your enduro adventure in Turkey begins. You reach the town of Gebis with its typical tea house via small roads. A winding route continues to Pinargözü, before the long gravel ascent to the 2,500 m high Kuyuca-dagi begins. In Yazili Canyon, you swim in crystal clear water while fresh trout is being prepared. Finally, you roll to Sütcüler via lonely off-road paths. Distance: approx. 150 km, gravel portion approx. 60 km.
After a hearty breakfast of local cuisine, you look out over the wild mountains of the Taurus range. Empty roads, some paved and some not, take you up to about 1,400 meters in altitude. Along the way, you pass through villages where time seems to stand still. A more challenging, yet feasible off-road track rewards you with wide panoramas. After lunch with a farming family, you descend over the Dedegölü mountains and a lot of gravel down to the winding coastal road. Distance: approx. 150 km, gravel section approx. 60 km.
After breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake and mountains, you walk to a unique wooden column mosque. Then you take a roughly 2,000-meter-high plateau under the wheels. On gravel and narrow asphalt roads, you roll through many small villages, where tea breaks continuously bring contact with the locals. Gradually, the landscape changes, and deep canyons shape this stage of the motorbike tour in the Taurus Mountains until the day's destination Ermenek. Distance: approx. 180 km, gravel portion approx. 80 km.
Questions about the tour itinerary?
Our tour guide is happy to answer any questions about the day-by-day route, stops, and details.
At about 1,300 m height, you enjoy breakfast comfortably before the mountains once again captivate you. Besides the gorges, a plateau especially fascinates, reminiscent of images from Mongolia. The further you descend from the peaks of Karadag and Geyik Dagi, the more passes and curves await you. Those who love curves will definitely get their money's worth on this enduro stage in the Taurus Mountains. After a delightful riding day, you reach your destination, Akseki. Distance: approx. 190 km, gravel portion approx. 90 km.
In the morning, the route takes you through countless curves along the massive mountains. You will drive a section of one of the most important trade routes of antiquity: the Silk Road toward the Mediterranean. Here, some of the caravansaries left to nature stand, of which you will visit the most beautiful. Afterwards, it continues over gravel through pine and cedar forests to today's destination, the Köprülü Canyon National Park. This off-road Turkey Taurus stage combines history and driving pleasure. Distance: approx. 120 km, gravel portion approx. 60 km.
After breakfast by the turquoise-green Köprülücay River, you drive over an old Roman bridge with a magnificent view of the canyon. On winding roads, you pass through a pine forest to an even larger gorge, where nature has shaped a unique rocky landscape. Mostly on gravel, you reach over 1,300 meters in altitude, where you enjoy a fresh trout. Afterwards, your motorcycle journey through the Taurus Mountains takes you back to Antalya along nature trails. Distance: about 150 km, gravel portion about 60 km.
Unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye, because even the most beautiful enduro week must come to an end. As a keepsake, you will receive a CD with the most beautiful impressions of your motorcycle tour through the Taurus Mountains. Those who do not wish to return home yet can extend their stay individually – we are happy to advise you on the options. At the end, the transfer will take you back to Antalya Airport, where your journey concludes.
