Colle dell'Assietta Ridge

At 2,637m, the unlit 500m-long passage cuts through the summit with a floor that shifts between dry gravel, mud and ice depending on conditions. Leaving Embrun, the route climbs through high-alpine terrain before reaching the tunnel — then descends through wide mountain meadows and fractured ridgelines on the way back into Italy's Stura valley for tonight's camp.

Maira-Stura Ridge Road
Starting from Demonte in the heart of Piedmont, this is the day that defines the alps motorcycle camping experience: the Maira-Stura Ridge Road. From Colle Valcavera, a masterfully gravelled high road snakes along the ridgeline through raw mountain scenery all the way to the village of Marmora. The route offers a natural flow between technical gravel work and panoramic pauses. An optional afternoon loop through the surrounding peaks adds more offroad miles for those with energy to spare — a pure adventure motorcycle tour day.
Alta Via del Sale – Sea Views
The Alta Via del Sale — the historic Salt Road — runs 60km along the Italian-French border at high altitude, crossing bare ridges, narrow rock corridors and sweeping highland terrain before ending just 20km from the Mediterranean.
