Days 1–14

1st Day: Johannesburg to Palapye

With Johannesburg already in the rearview mirror, our Africa adventure takes us towards the border of Botswana. Once we have completed the formalities at the border crossing, we continue our journey on the Trans-Kalahari Highway (a highway connecting Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa. While it leads tourists through breathtaking landscapes, it is also an important economic trade route), which ultimately brings us to our overnight stop in Palapye. Discover the beauty of the northwestern province on our exciting round trip through South Africa and Botswana. Included meals: Lunch, Dinner

2nd Day: Palapye to Maun

After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, today the real adventure in Africa begins. Our drive takes us through the barren yet fascinating landscape of the Central Kalahari Desert, one of the largest and wildest conservation areas in the world. Along the way, we pass picturesque little towns and villages that provide a glimpse into everyday life in Botswana. An absolute highlight is the Orapa diamond mine, an impressive symbol of Botswana's mineral wealth. This mine, a joint project of De Beers and the Botswana government, is among the largest diamond mines in the world. It is an important economic engine contributing significantly to Botswana's GDP and export revenues. After Orapa, we skirt the southern edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, here we have our first little safari of this trip from the window. Today's destination is the town of Maun, where we will check into our accommodation. Maun is called the gateway to the Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is the largest inland delta in the world and offers an indescribable variety of flora and fauna. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

3rd Day: Okavango Delta

The next 2 nights, we will be separated from our truck. Please pack clothes for this time, as well as the essentials, in a small extra bag. We will have a short time on site to repack. Today we enter the Okavango Delta with its 'endless' expanses. The first big safari of this Africa trip awaits us, where we will experience the impressive and picturesque scenery as well as the fascinating and diverse wildlife up close. The delta is home to 4 of the Big Five, crocodiles, hippos, and over 400 bird species. From Maun, we head to the Khwai Conservation Area, a wildlife reserve on the edge of the delta. It is community-based managed and operates sustainable tourism. The number of tourists allowed in the reserve at any one time is limited to minimize the ecological footprint. Our guide will inform us about what to expect on our afternoon game drive. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

4th Day: Greater Moremi Game Reserve Area

After a relaxing night in the wilderness, today we have an adventure-filled and unforgettable full-day safari as part of our adventurous group trip through southern Africa. We will spend most of the day on a game drive in the Moremi Game Reserve. The Moremi Game Reserve is one of the most beautiful, well-known, and with an area of 5,000 km², one of the largest protected areas in Botswana. Like the Khwai Conservation Area, the Moremi Private Game Reserve works with NGOs and other partners to promote anti-poaching projects and the conservation of biodiversity here. Revenue from tourism is partially invested in these projects. It is located in the northeastern part of the Okavango Delta. Here we can expect bumpy roads, but they are a minor issue for our 4x4 vehicles. Numerous species, including the Big Five roam the plains. We drive through a varied landscape consisting of wetlands, water landscapes, grasslands, forests, and savannas. In the evening we return to Khwai and can share our breathtaking and unforgettable impressions over a delicious dinner. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

5th Day: Khwai to Nata

After an early breakfast, we leave Khwai and first return to our truck in Maun. Our adventure continues as many other adventures and unforgettable images await us that will stay in our memory forever. Today's drive takes us through the Botswana salt pans near Nata. The Nata Saline is one of the largest salt pans in the world and stretches over hundreds of square kilometers. The flat landscape appears covered with a white and glittering salt crust during the dry season. In the rainy season, the landscape transforms into small lakes and marshlands. Springboks are frequently encountered here. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

6th Day: Chobe National Park

After a delicious breakfast, we leave Nata and continue our African round trip to Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park is one of the most famous national parks in Botswana and is the 3rd largest in the country with its nearly 12,000 km². The park is known for its elephant population and is estimated to house about 50,000 elephants. The fascinating landscape consists of dense forests, swamps, river landscapes, and savannas. In addition, the park is home to a variety of African wildlife and many bird species. After lunch, a river safari awaits us here on the Chobe River, where we will see elephants and other animals along the river. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

7th Day: Chobe National Park to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

With countless and indescribable memories from safari and nature in our luggage, we leave Chobe National Park after a hearty breakfast. Our African journey in the southern part of the Dark Continent continues towards the Zimbabwe border. We reach the town of Victoria Falls, where the world-famous and majestic Victoria Falls are located right at the city’s edge. The Brit David Livingstone discovered the falls in the 19th century as the first European and named them after the then Queen of England, Victoria. They are one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The roaring of the water creates a mist rising up to 400 meters high, visible from afar depending on the weather. After arrival, the remaining day is at leisure. The city and the falls offer numerous activities for every desire and taste. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch. Optional activities: Visit the Victoria Falls, sunset boat trip on the Zambezi, bungee jump, helicopter flights, white-water rafting

Today is a free day. The numerous activity options offer good entertainment; relaxation is also possible. Included meals: Breakfast

9th Day: Victoria Falls to Francistown

After breakfast, we leave Victoria Falls on our African round trip and cross the border back to Botswana. The route takes us south to Francistown. The city is centrally located and is the 2nd largest city in the country. Francistown offers a dynamic mix of history and modern development. Included meals: Breakfast, Dinner

10th Day: Francistown to Johannesburg

Today we get up early because a delicious breakfast awaits us. Our round trip through southern Africa continues back to South Africa. In the late afternoon, we reach the metropolis of Johannesburg, where we started our impressive journey. Johannesburg is also fondly called Joburg and is the largest city in South Africa. It presents itself as a vibrant city with a rich history and culture. Included meals: Breakfast

11th Day: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park

Please note that on the upcoming travel days (while we visit Kruger National Park), the order of activities can change without prior notice, and a certain flexibility is required to experience a small part of the 147 mammal species / 500 bird species / 100 reptile species and of course the BIG five. This is to enable maximum opportunities for wildlife observation and experiences. On certain departures, it may happen that another type of vehicle is used either at the beginning or at the end of the tour. This means that on Day 11 (from Johannesburg to the Greater Kruger National Park) or on Day 14 (from Kruger National Park back to Johannesburg) your journey may be conducted with shuttle vehicles (minivan) to meet at the Greater Kruger National Park with the Nomad truck and/or to depart from there. If your selected date includes such a shuttle ride, we will inform you accordingly. Enjoy the flexibility and unique wildlife observations on our safari through Kruger National Park. After breakfast, we leave the bustling metropolis of Johannesburg and head east. A highlight of this adventure trip through southern Africa awaits us at the end of this impressive and unforgettable African journey. We are going on safari in Kruger National Park, the largest national park in Africa as previously mentioned. On the way, we pass the coal fields of the Mpumalanga province, where coal is mined. This region is of great importance both for the country's energy production and economically (as a lot of coal is exported). Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

12th Day: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park

This morning we get up early because a full-day game drive awaits us in the 19,485 square kilometers of Kruger National Park. The abundance of wildlife gives us excellent observation opportunities. Experience the wonders of the African wildlife on our unforgettable safari through Kruger National Park. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

13th Day: Panorama Route

This morning we head along the picturesque Panorama Route, where we will visit God's Window (a viewpoint with a spectacular view of lush forests, deep gorges, and wide plains), Bourke's Luck Potholes (cylindrical holes believed to have been created by water erosion over millennia), and the Three Rondavels (three massive rocks that resemble traditional African round huts and lie in the Blyde River). Enjoy the breathtaking views on our trip along the Panorama Route through South Africa. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

14th Day: Kruger National Park to Johannesburg

The end of this breathtaking and unforgettable group safari in the southern part of the African continent is near. After breakfast, we have one last game drive before the return trip to Johannesburg. In the late afternoon, we reach the bustling metropolis. Here we say goodbye to each other. There is an option to extend or go to a hotel near OR Tambo International Airport, from where the journey home to cold Europe can be started the next day. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch
